Actually, I don't think the demonic activity you mention here would be that far fetched. You really don't have to see anything. All demons would have to do is convince you that you were seeing what they wanted you to see whether it be a "ghost" or "alien". When you take into consideration that most ghostly or alien "encounters" end up being malevolent, this makes sense.
IT does not surprise me that Americans see the most of these things. We are such a self-centered people that are indoctrinated with all sorts of theories. We basically see what we want to see through our rose-colored stained glass windows.
