What I found interesting was this article in September 1991 issue.
Why is it interesting to me ?
Cuz of the huge "mp3", "downloading", "digital pirating" controversy of the last 15 or so years being the
blame for album sales dropping. NOW, this article was written at a time before the evil Mp3 even came out (1991, "mp3" was not a household word, not for another 5 years would come the
common possibility of sharing a song via a connected computer).
I said all that to say this - The article clearly demonstrates that there was a SERIOUS drop in sales and music profits just prior to the mp3 being the final nail in the coffin. I just think it's silly how ALL the blame falls on digital media sharing, when the proof is right here that the music industry was battling serious "cancers" all on it's own (pretty much blamed, at the time, on recession and a financially tight society).
