| Here's a fun thread where you can show us pictures of toys you had when you were a kid - that you STILL have. Whether you kept them for nostalgia's sake, or you hung onto them for your own kids or grandkids or whatever. Also, please add a story behind them - when you got them, who gave them to you, what your favorite memory of them were, etc. I have a couple toys from my childhood here and there. I came up with the idea for this thread when I was in my storage shed this morning and saw my dump truck and tractor that were given to me as a Christmas gift 1978. I left them behind when I moved out as a teen, and my Mom gave them to me (again) when I had my own kids. My son LOVED playing with them, until he grew up and wanted to sell them at our yard sale. I said nope ! They're going back into storage for when I have grandkids -haha ! Good old Tonka... they last forever ! | |

| So I can't show a picture but my parents still have all my LEGO's from when I was a kid. They almost fill up a 5 gallon bucket and my son plays with them when he goes over there. | |

| I'll try and get a picture of my slot track stuff this week. It's in trunks and boxes out in the garage. | |

Nice ! Regarding Legos:Legos got SO expensive ! When we were kids, they weren't so bad, but when I went out to get my son some Leggos about 10 years ago - I decided I didn't want to take out a small loan to buy one little Leggo package ! Sheesh !

| Now, I know this is about ones we still have so here goes... This is what I still have but it is in possession of my step son (22 years old). I thought they were lost but he has them. Still have the original boxes too: All of those are still in the box (played with, just still have the original boxes). My son has them and all of my figures. I'll look around the house and see if I can find anything but more than likely there is nothing there. My wife considers it all "junk" and will throw it out in a heartbeat. There is a chance some of my other toys are at my mom dad's in Tennessee. I know my dad has my comic collection. I also used to have a ton of Mego figures given to me by a childhood friend. | |

| Very cool indeed ! I SO wish I would've kept all my star wars stuff. Sold it all to a collector when I was 16 back in '86... sigh. | |

I kept mine with the intent of passing it on to one of my kids. So when my step son got old enough to enjoy the movies I gave the stuff to him. I thought it was all lost until about a year ago he told me he still had all of it and was saving it to do what I did -- pass it along to his kids some day. He said he also has the GI Joe's I bought him. He has quite a few of these 12 inch figures and toys. Glad he saved them.

| Here are a couple of pics of my old slot cars. When my nephew arrived he brought his track with him and set it up. So I dug out my old cars and they still run very well! Mostly Tyco, a couple of AFX. Most of these are just bodes. The 3 in the back are old TCR (Total Control Racing) cars. | |

| I don't have anything left from my early years. Then again I was mainly into models. Enjoyed hours of the gluing, decals, and painting them all. I would put planes together and hang them from the ceiling. Different cars were on shelves, one of them was a General Lee.l I also had a Millennium Falcon and USS Enterprise flying with the planes. | |

| I wasn't ever any good at models. I could put 'em together pretty well but when it came to painting or putting on decals, I sucked. | |

I had a USS Enterprise model as well! The bridge section was open as were the holes for any lights in the engineering lower sections where the warp drive nacells were attached. So, I took card stock and cut them into the right sizes. I took a yellow magic marker and colored the pieces and glued them in so that the "lights" would be on. It was a low tech way of making the model really come alive. I hung it from my bedroom ceiling with small eye bolts and thin fishing wire. It was SO cool.......in a nerdboy kinda way! The only toy I had as a child that I still have is my very first Matchbox car. Yes, they used to be the bigger brand way back when. You almost couldn't find Hot Wheels locally. My first one I got when I was 5 years old. It is a yellow 1974 Lambourgini Diablo. The windshield is red. It is old and tired looking. I used to have hundreds of these small cars and spent countless hours playing with them. I gave the most of them that I still had to my nephew when he started playing with them. I kept back the one just because it was special--my first. I had it in my pocket when I graduated from the 8th grade. I carried it again when I graduated high school. I carried it one last time in my pocket the night I got married to my wife 28 years ago. That car is special as is the girl! _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| I think most to all of my old childhood toys have been sold, given away, or trashed. Although the last time my mom brought me a box of precious keepsakes (aka crap she found stashed in a closet) my stuffed Alf was in there. Yep, Alf is my lone remaining childhood toy. Pretty sad. | |

| Ah I have a ton of my old toys still. They're all up in my parents' attic. I have a TON of Legos. I have a huge family and every Christmas/birthday, when in doubt, they'd just get me Legos haha. I also have quite a bit of K'nex which is another awesome building toy like Legos but more structural and strong. I have some Zoob which never caught on but was pretty cool too. I also have quite a few Transformers. I got way in to Beast Wars (when they sorta re-vamped Transformers but with animals back in the late 90's or so). I have a bunch of them. Here's some picture I found online but I have most of these guys: | |
