Maestah is a new band in which I recently received a promo copy of their debut CD for review purposes. I have the review online and wrote of it favorably.

In the past I have had mixed results with vocal quality from the region. It took several listens but I grew to like the group's lower register vocal approach (kind of gruff and guttural with some Russell Allen Dio-ish hints thrown in).
Musically, Maestah walks a fine line between groove driven hard rock, classic metal and power/progressive aspects.

Not bad, I actually like his voice...
The only thing that prevents me from giving it a thumbs up is the keyboards.
Really, really, REALLY didn't like the keyboards.

I've been checking out a few tracks from this album on youtube and I have to say they have one of the better vocalists for a South American band. The only thing that puts me off a little is the "euro-power metal" leanings in several of the songs (kind of dominate in the keys). Gonna give a couple more listens before I decide if I want to purchase or not.

The only thing that puts me off is ... NOTHING! I think this is GREAT. I, too, have trouble with South American vocalists; not sure why, they just never really click for me. But I think this guy is really good. And I like the keys as well; they give the band that progressive feel.
This album has earned a place on my "ME WANT THIS" list.
