Joan Jett

So I know she isn't Christian (or I think... is she? Probably not...) but I'd like some advice. Any fans?

I've heard a couple of her hits - I Love Rock and Roll and Bad Reputation. But the other day I was in Vintage Vinyl (a record/CD store in U City) and they were playing one of her albums. It seemed pretty good.

Where should I start?

I kind of doubt she is a Christian, I thought I remember hearing that she was/is bi-sexual or maybe just gay.

I Love Rock & Roll is a good album to start off with.

I've never been a Joan Jett fan so the only songs I know by her is what I've heard on the radio.

It sounds a bit like she relates to Christianity but is "spiritual" rather than a believer...

Sounds like she believes in some kind of God, and uses her own experiences to define that God.  Ok.....

I am a huge fan of Joan Jett and I have every single album she has put out on cd and vinyl...I recently saw her live and she kicked a$$..great show..here is her views on religion..I dig what she is saying here and tend to agree with her in alot of ways..  [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Her double cd greatest hits is also a very good place to start as is Fit To be Tied:anthology
I would also recommend the Runaways..her band with Lita Ford and Cherie Currie...The best of or greatest hits would be a great place to start there..

@Savage Amusement - thanks bro. I may start with a hits collection. I think that's what was playing at VV when I was there. Hate Myself for Loving You was the tune that caught my ear.

I dig Joan. Never was a huge fan (though I have 8 albums by her) just a casual fan of her better known works.

Don't know about her personal life, I just like her music.

I know a lot of people like that as well.

I gotta admit----I loved "l love R&R" ... in the day...

But honestly---her lyrics are way too fleshly/trashy for me dude...

I saw her opening for the Who last year and was surprised at how good she was live.
