Snagged this 1995 album from the Heavy Metal Swap Meet. Though it was from the Bill Roxx table, I don't know that they're a "Christian" band. Their lyrics are clean and positive with some allusions to God and salvation. Their sound is cool - compares to 2020 Blind, Blessid Union Of Souls, Angelica and the like. Groovy clean sounding classic rock !
Anyone ever hear of these dudes ?

I thought the mohawk guy looked kind of familiar (Jean Beauvoir) he played with Wendy O Williams in the punk-metal oufit "The Plasmatics" (not at all a Christian act).

Yeah, I did some looking around and he was an original member. I also found some Crown Of Thorn live videos and the banter between songs has some.. Shall we say adult language along the lines of Dave Mustaine.

Hmm, good info. I snagged it cuz I thought they were a Christian band... and it was only 3 bucks. But Bill Roxx Bafford had quite a few secular albums for sale. Some were crap I wouldn't sell/buy, and others like this Crown album were kind of neutral. Idk about other material, but the songs on this album are very neutral. May be a keeper... not sure..

Yeah the Plasmatics were definitely not Christian. I still like them though. Staybrite if you have any of their stuff and don't want it 😈

It was just a week or so ago I saw that add for "American Trash" on Melodicrock.com and I had never heard of Crown Of Thorns either. I remember seeing the video and watching it because Frontiers is releasing some pretty good stuff (including the new FM album which I plan on picking up, some great sounding songs on it... And the new Trixter single is excellent if the rest of the album is as good as the first single I will pick it up too). I liked to snippets from "American Trash" and what I heard from Crown Of Thorns, both pretty good.

I could never tolerate Wendy's vocals long enough to own an entire album. I think I had one of their songs on a cassette compilation but I lost that decades ago.

It's like "Janis Joplin" - I dig her vox in a lot of songs, but I've known a lot of rockers who couldn't stand her. Just personal preferences I guess.
Now Janis I think is fantastic, and could listen to her all day.
Me too. My Mom absolutely hated her. I'd be like "Mom, c'mon -Take another little piece of my heart now baby.. you don't like that ???" She'd just say it was dreadful. I felt like Janis was one of the original female metal singers years before metal.. she was awesome !

I realize I should know this, but Staybrite... who is that in your album cover avatar ? Looks familiar, but I can't place it.

My wife has never liked Janis either, she thinks she is a horrible singer. There's just no accounting for some people's tastes.

I would be surprised if you knew what that was. It is the cover of an obscure compilation album from 1984 titled "Northwest Metalfest". The album featured 10 metal bands local to Western Washington and Northwest Oregon. It was released on a small local label and only available in LP format. Nearly all of the bands toiled in obscurity and never found any fame outside of small local followings except for one band by the name of Metal Church. The rest of the music varies between hair-metal and "true metal" that was rather dominate at the time. There was also a concert event at a local venue that featured several (maybe all) of the bands in one show. You can see many live videos of those bands at their facebook page.
I haven't heard of the plasmatics in a long time...I really like them...poor wendy..she was an unmedicated bipolar who committed suicide.. very sad. I remember them opening for Kiss back in the 80s...Ace actually did some guitar work on some of her albums...I think I might have to look for some of their albums...
