Every month we change. This month it's because of "May The Fourth Be With You" for May 4. Last month it was album covers. And welcome bodachi!

Sometimes we have "special theme" avatar months on CHM.
It's fun.
Like MikeInFla has told you this months we use SW avatars and maybe in June we're get an other theme.

We have done these themed avatars a few times before.  One time we did characters from the tv show MASH.

Since May The Fourth was no longer with us, it was time for a change.

I have found the Rebel Bass!

Maybe you're on something there alldat. How about a new theme for avatars - our favorite instrument picture?

EDIT: I just went ahead and did it. My pic is a Strat (which I'd love to have) in a tuxedo style.

Yeah I like LP's too - two of my favorite guitar players play LP's, Sonnie Johnston (Five Iron Frenzy) and Mick Jones (The Clash). But for what I play, I really want a Strat.

I picked up a Les Paul a few years ago and I love it!

That's a good idea to change the avatars.
I like this guitar.
But what I absolutely love is the deep and dark sound of a contra bass.
Or how do you call that bass in English?

Changed mine to a Kanstul Power Bore G Bugle.

My Avatar is my Gibson Les Paul Studio.  His name is Lester.  I know.  Not very original but that's what stuck.

Well since I was able to try out the guitar I had posted and didn't like it at all, I changed mine to a novelty guitar that looks like a Colt handgun.

Now, back to the drawing board for purchasing an electric...

I am changing mine to my most recent build and personal instrument.  This is a 4 string Dickens Guitar that I built from a cigar box.  It is fully electric but can be played as an acoustic.  While I originally had a drawer pull on this for the tail piece, I didn't like that and removed it since the string tension was bowing the lid of the box.  So, I replaced it with a nice slotted spoon.  Voila!

This guitar is currently tuned D-A-D-F#.  It makes for some easy playing.  However, you can easily retune the highest string to G to get more of a "drop D" feel on a standard guitar.  Or, you can tune it to G and then retune the low D to an E and play the 4 strings from a standard guitar.  It is an extremely versatile instrument.

I think this "Dickens Guitar" is a true beauty. 
Can you use this guitar for your new blues CD?

Yes, and while looking at "crazy" guitars I also saw an image that was...... let's just say shaped like male anatomy and I inadvertently copied THAT photo for an avatar by mistake and quickly went back to the weird looking one that now appears.

Piano.  I love lots of instruments, but sometimes a piano adds something special to a metal band!

How about an Incredible Hulk guitar?

I don't really have a favorite instrument, but trumpet is what I played in high school and college, so I'll go with that.
