| Apparently this movie comes out on DVD today. I only know this because my wife just posted a picture of herself holding the DVD.
I have to confess to not being a huge Trekkie (but I know there are a few serious Star Trek fans here). I have to say I really liked most of the original movies when they came out in the 70's and 80's (but I don't think some of them held up well over time). And I enjoyed some of the reboot t.v. series shows (mainly Star Trek TNG and Voyager), but with the exception of the first Next Gen film (Generations-1994) I just never really got into the next generation movies (I don't even think I saw all of them). But I have to confess to really liking these reboot movies (Star Trek 2009 & Into Darkness 2013). It doesn't usually happen this way, but I think I like the second film even better than the first.
What do you think? _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I love the new reboot movies. I do realize that they are not meant to be prequels but a whole new Star Trek--kinda ike all the Batman movie incarnations.
With that said, I think your wife is amazing. I had to buy the Blu-Ray of "Into Darkness" today myself. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| I had a great evening Tuesday. My wife had a late doctor's appointment, so I fired up the 2009 "Star Trek". I started "Star Trek Into Darkness" just a few minutes before she got home and watched both the new reboot series movies back to back. It was a lot of fun! _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| We have it, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet (probably this weekend). My youngest boy started public school (for the first time in 7 years), and we are all having some serious readjusting to do with regards to homework in the evening. Maybe we will try to watch them both in the same day as well. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Of course, some Trekkies want to be pretty anal about some of the changes they have made to these movies. I try not to fuss, but there are two things in the new movie that did not sit well with me.
1. The Enterprise is a STARship--not a submarine. You will see what I mean at the first of Into Darkness. The ship would never have dropped below orbit. A shuttlecraft would have sufficed to keep the locals from seeing you and violating the Prime Directive.
2. Klingons DO NOT WEAR HELMETS to fight. They are warriors, but they would prefer to face their opponents face to face. You can't do that with a helmet.

| From the first movie:
1) You do NOT blow up Vulcan. I realize that this is an "alternate reality" where none of the real stories happen the way they did because of Nero coming back in time and changing history. But, you cannot revisit many of the original series stories without being able to bring in Vulcan.
Ok, maybe I am one of those anal Trekkies.
