| How does iTunes Match work? I've got a 32gb which is almost full but want to add more music to it. I've heard thru iTunes Match you can condense the songs thus freeing up space. How is that done? | |

| I can't help, Mac. I bought a Zune years ago and love it. When it died last year, I sent it off and had it fixed. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| I can't figure it out either. I have the same problem, 32 g is NOT enough. What I did was create a folder on my external hard drive called "iTunes Nonuse Music". I copy and paste folders from my iTunes folder into this one then delete them out of the "iTunes Music" folder and off my iPod. That way if I ever want them back on it I can simply re-add them to the library. Also, if you have purchases that you don't listen to much you can just delete them and re-download them later. What was I thinking when I downloaded Sha-Na-Na's "Greatest Hits"? I dunno but I listened to it once then deleted it. But if I ever get in a mood for Bowzer again, it is stored on iCloud and I can download it again. As for CD's that you add, I don't think you can store them on the cloud so that is why I made my non-use folder. | |

| I had an iPod too but was having problems to load music on it. Now I put music on my phone. That's a lot easier to do. | |

| Yeah it is a lot of work by not time consuming. Here's what's time consuming but fun: transferring vinyl over to digital, manually editing all the clicks and pops then saving th finished product on my iPod! | |

| the only way to "condense" music is to re-encode it to a lower bitrate (lower quality) ... depending on the bitrate it's at this might be a good idea and might not. If you go much lower than 128 kb/s you will notice a difference but if you are only listening to the music through headphones you won't hear any difference at 128 kb/s than a higher bitrate. When I put my music on a music player/phone I always re-encode it to 128 kb/s rather than than the 320 kb/s I have it on my computer...
as far as how to get an ipod to do it.. no clue.. I use a windows program. I never do anything with an mp3 player software.. I always do it through windows explorer. | |
