8. Te Amo - (New) (INSTRUMENTAL)
I'm betting that this will actually be a lyric song sung (at least partly) in Spanish.

I wonder if Oz will contribute to the lead vocals?

I always wondered about the lyrics to the chorus in this song. "Jesus is just alright with me" seemed a little odd that a Christian would say that Jesus is just alright, kind of seems like something a non Christian would say who doesn't take a serious offense to Jesus. But I don't expect a solid theology lesson from lyrics in a rock song.

^ I have often thought that as well.

My point of view, which of course could be wrong, is that I don't think it was intended to be "just alright" as in "barely good enough"...
"Just" can be used to as kind of an exclamation showing that something was exactly or precisely what was needed
Example...the shirt fits "just" right....doesn't mean it barely fits..it means it perfectly fits. Another example..that was "just" awesome..meaning it was perfectly awesome
So..as for alright... Usage: The form alright, though very common, is still considered by many people to be wrong or less acceptable than all right
So what does All right mean? all` right′ adv. 1. yes; very well: All right, I'll go with you. 2. (used as an interrogative) do you agree?: We'll meet tomorrow, all right? 3. satisfactorily; acceptably: Her work is coming along all right. 4. without fail; certainly: You'll hear about this, all right! adj. 5. safe; sound: Are you all right? 6. acceptable; passable: His performance was all right. 7. reliable; good: That fellow is all right.
I think definition 7 is what they really probably intended.
It should also be pointed out that in the 70s people said "alright!" like we would say "Great" Like...Hey I have got the new Monkees cd...and the guy replies "well, alriiight!!"
So you can say that maybe it meant that Jesus was perfectly all right! Meaning He is very good.

Yep, my Dad used to use the term "just" the same way when we were kids in the 70s. It's kind of an old expression that doesn't work today. Back in the 70s they would say "In my book, Tommy's just alright" or "You're just the best there is" or "There's just gotta be a better way" or "Man, that's just the greatest band ever"
In all those usages, the subject is never "casually" described by the adjective due to the use of "just" - It's merely a usage from a different time period (ie 20 years from now people will wonder why a singer says that something positive is "dope" or "sick" etc.)
Here's an excerpt from Wiki:
"Jesus Is Just Alright" is a gospel song written by Arthur Reid Reynolds and first recorded by Reynolds' own group, The Art Reynolds Singers, on their 1966 album, Tellin' It Like It Is. The song's title makes use of the American slang term "all-right", which during the 1960s was used to describe something that was considered 'cool' or very good.
Now, back to the reason I said NOOOOooooooo to this song ? I'll quote wiki again for my reason: The song has been covered by a number of bands and artists over the years, including The Byrds, Underground Sunshine, The Doobie Brothers, Alexis Korner, The Ventures, DC Talk, Shelagh McDonald, and Robert Randolph (featuring Eric Clapton).
It's PLAYED OUT !!! It's well done, burnt - no longer edible - smells like yesterdays laundry.... Posts in this thread alone demonstrate how out of date it is. It needs to be put to rest. IMHO of course

Thanks, B4L. It's a simple site (which is about all I can handle!) but I like to keep people informed on Guy and other stuff. I didn't know about Tourniquet at RH3, although to be honest I sort of lost a bit of interest in them after Guy left. Nothing to do with them as a band, it's just they're a bit too heavy for my liking, infact they've always been to heavy/thrashy but Guy's vocals just worked for me and that's why I liked them so much. I still haven't brought their latest album!
