| As I said, "pointless"
Let's start with: What foods did your parents make you eat as a child -that, as an adult, you now love ? Which ones do you still think are disgusting ?
Mine was Asparagus - hated it as a kid... now I love lots of it, with butter !! What I still hate to this day is Hominy - NASTY !!! and also Okra !!! Barffff !!!

| Mine made me eat hominy as well, and now I enjoy but my wife hates it so I rarely eat it. Mine also made me eat beans and cornbread, which I now love.
One thing I wish they hadn't done is make me "clean my plate" cause now I'm about 150 pounds overweight and I have weird issues with leaving food on my plate. The only thing that helps is using a smaller plate.

| Most of them I still don't like.
I hated pot roast as a kid and now think it's pretty tasty. It had a lot to do with the way my mother cooked it though.
Still hate: lima beans, beans & ham hocks, liver, beets (I don't make my kids eat any of that stuff) _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Staybrite, did you eat cornbread with your beans and hamhocks? That's how we did/do...
I don't like beef liver, but chicken liver is awesome.

Yes, we always had cornbread with our beans and hamhocks...it was the only part of the meal I could stand. It must be kind of like corned beef and cabbage....they just "go together". Oh yes, my parents also loved fried chicken gizzards....I still don't like those either. Most of that organ meat is just to "gamey" tasting for me. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Oh and I can't help but think the title of this thread is some sort of mocking tribute to the "Dumb Kwestion of the Week" thread. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Mama made me try brussel sprouts, hominy, turnip greens, watermelon/cantaloupe, fried chicken livers, beef liver, fried eggplant, cooked beets, beet pickle, and a host of other things.
Which ones do I love? Brussel sprouts, chicken livers, beef liver, eggplant, cooked beets, and beet pickles.
Which ones do I still hate? Hominy, turnip greens, and watermelon/cantaloupe. I don't like any kind of melons due to flavor, smell, and consistency issues. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| Mom and dad loved to eat fish. As child I didn't like to eat fish. Mom told us we have to eat all the food she has cooked for us. So I still like almost all the food. Now I'm older and "wiser" ( yes guys we can discuss about that ) I still hate to eat endive and Brussel sprouts, that has not changed. So I never cook those veggies for me family. And oatmeal is something that kept me for many hours sitting at the table till my bowl was empty. I don't like to eat apples, in an apple pie they are OK. | |

| ahh yes, my favorite meat: FISH !! I absolutely love a good Salmon. But when I was a wee one, my parents said we were having fish for dinner - I'd pitch a fit and try to stay over at a friend's house for dinner. Funny how we change. | |

No, endive is not steamed soybeans. It's a veggie with big green leaves.
