| My arrangement of God Rest Ye merry Gentlemen. This band is not that tight but a few buddies of mine and I are working on a Christmas Project for next year and this arrangement of this song would likely be on the project if it happens. So what do youse guys thank?? [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] | |

| Reminds me slightly of Rush during the intro. Pretty cool, I'm liking it all - how about doing a studio recording of it? | |

| Thanks on the comment and rush was a surprise. It's in the plans for this year to do a Christmas CD for next year but the band will be different. It was with that group where we came up with that arrangement. Here is a practice clip of that band and is closer to how it should sound on the CD if we do put it together. | Thanks guys for the complements. This year I handled all our arrangements and after listening to yesterdays recording a few turned out better than I thought they would. Couple more for you guys. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Seriously I have a group of guys that are talking about us doing a Christmas CD for next year so I need to ask what do you guys think about the last 2 here?

| Very good ! My personal opinion... I'm personally burned out on 1001 renditions of the classics and LOVE to hear new Christmas songs. If you guys can write some new stuff with that Christmas message and sound, I'd be excited. | |

+1. One I had never heard until my choir just did it was "Will We Know Him?" I kept thinking to myself how cool it would be to hear in a metal version. Though not a Christmas song, "The First Song of Isaiah" was another one we just did I'd never heard before that would be a great epic metal piece. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

| Also, I just listening to ROCKSALT 12/5/04 and heard Away in a Manger by an outfit called "Christmas Rock"... what I liked about this version is it took the same lyrics and made the song sound REALLY different ! It rocks, but it doesn't bore me with the same old tune.
So, take classic lyrics and change the sound, the tune, the melody, etc... cuz a lot of traditionals have the best lyrics, but the tune is PLAYED OUT !

I'm just the opposite and love those original melodies. I guess it's the Classical training I had what I love is hearing someone finding a way to pull something fresh off and still keep that recognizable melody intact. One we did do is a little newer in Mary Did You know. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] So far my ol buddy Neil Zaza IMO does the best set of Christmas material in a modern metal format I have found. Boy makes me wanna burn my guitar and QUIT LOL!! Here is his Carol of the Bells. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
