To our amazing friends and fans,
This has truly been an interesting year for the three of us. We have spent most of the last three years writing songs and searching for inspiration. As a part of that season, we’ve also been seeking direction and a new plan for what God has for our lives. In the midst of this journey our songwriting times turned less and less into songwriting and more and more into God speaking to us about His new plans for us. And the outcome is that God is gently leading us in a new direction. The three of us really feel, and all agree, that the Lord is leading us to make a huge change in our lives and we want you to be the first to know about it.
After much prayer and counsel we have decided that we are retiring the band BarlowGirl. We don't know what God has in store for us...He hasn’t revealed that yet. But in all this we know -- He is guiding us to move forward in our destinies and He is faithful no matter what! We are so excited for this new season because we serve an amazing God.
We want to thank you all for your support over the last 10 years. We are truly grateful for this part of our journey with you. We are not sure where our path will lead from here but these last 10 years have been sweet ones that we will never forget. Thank you all for being a huge part of our lives. We will miss you all.
We have decided that our final appearance as BarlowGirl needs to be shared with all of you! So we would love for you to be part of our last live web chat. We will be playing some songs acoustically and want you to conduct our final interview. We would love for you to join us!
Much Love, Alyssa, Becca, & Lauren

God is calling us to quit what we are doing and head in a new direction, but we have no idea what that is. Hmmmm...... why do I get the feeling there's something more to this story?

I've heard other Christians experience the same thing. Abraham was called out of Ur but he had no idea what God was going to do with him after that. I think God wants us to step out in faith sometimes before He reveals the next step.

BarlowGirl was a female-fronted pop/rock band made up of three sisters.
These songs should give you a good idea of their style/sound:
They were really good. It's a shame to see that they're calling it quits.

Genesis 12:1-3 The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”
I think he had some idea.

I had God tell me when I was 15 I was going to do something and it still hasn't happened. I'm 31.
This is similiar to when David Crowder Band split. They made ti sound like nobody in the band wanted to play music anymore and now all but 1 of them are making music.

There's one song from barlowgirl that really thouched my heart. That was in the time after my dad passed away. "Never Alone" is my favorite Barlow girl.
I'm sure if God has showed these sisters to quit, He will open an other door for them.
Follower of Jesus, that are true words you have told.

It could be a simple as they are reaching new places in life. These girls aren't teens anymore. They may be becoming wifes and mothers and God is calling them out of the band for that reason. I say give them credit until there is something to cause some real suspicion.

Agreed. For some reason I was under the impression that Lacey was leaving Flyleaf to spend more time with her child(ren) ....definitely a worthy cause and completely understandable IMO.
