Lordchain news.

For the fans of Lordchain and Step Cousin there's good news.
For those who support "Search For Sight" good news too.
Search For sight is a project of Jeff Grady and Kelly Matthews, both members of Lordchain.
This project was set up to get money for the eye disease they both have.
We have talked about this earlier this year.

The title of the new Lordchain CD is "For The Love of God" and we hope
to have it available later this year. It is a praise and worship album,
but most of the songs are originals, written by ourselves and close
friends. The one cover song that will most likely be on the project is
our version of "Power of Love" by King's X.
The new Search For
Sight album is titled "See You Around" and will be released on CD as
well as digital download in a few months.
The new Step Cousin CD is titled "The Chastisement Of Our Peace" and will be recorded next year.

I'm definitely looking forward to the Lordchain album. I just can't get enough of this band!

You are not alone in this.
Step Cousin has "cookie monsterish" vocals, so I have to stay away from this.

I wonder why Lordchain will release a praise and worship album instead of a hard rock album?

That's a good question, actually. We have played a lot of praise and worship sets since 2003. People always ask us where they can get our praise CD and we say, "Well, we don't have one." It's been on my heart for a while to do this. I think the time is right. We are writing for a new heavy Lordchain album too.

Not all Step Cousin music has the growl/cookie monster vocals. Songs like You Remain, Inside This Mind and Tears On My Pillow could be on a Lordchain album.

I'm seriously thinking about doing a re-issue of Soulever. We would have it re-mastered, add bonus tracks (there are a ton because that album was recorded twice) and revamping the cover art. What do you think?

A re-issue is a good idea when the sound of the CD really improves.

I can imagine when you are doing lots of praise and worship gigs the people ask if those song can be released on a CD. It's cool your audience can listen now.

Kelly all those news albums you are working for are giving me the idea Lordcahin is very active.

Yes, we are active, but not as much as I would like us to be. Jeff and I bear alot of the studio end of things. If we redo Soulever, it would probably come out in 2014, ten years after the original release. Right now it's just an idea. My main focus is on the praise and worship album and the new Search For Sight record. Keep our guitarist Matt Jones and his wife in your prayers. They recently found out that they will be having a baby. I know they are both excited.

If there were some great bonus tracks in the same style, I'd love a redone "Soulever". But, there ain't nothing wrong with what you've done. The album is seriously my favorite Lordchain album.

Rick Koeshall, who sang on our debut, wrote with us on that album and even came in and laid down some vocals. It didn't work out very well. The album was close to being finished in late 2003, but we decided to scrap it and start fresh. Looking back, that was a very good choice. We trimmed out songs that were not clicking and wrote 'Jesus, we worship You' and 'Walking Wasteland'. The production was tons better and the whole project had a much better feel. We do, however, have quite a bit of material that was left out from the first sessions. Songs like, 'Stay With Me', 'Leslie's Song' and 'Solace'. There are some alternate/first draft versions of tunes like 'Between the Lines', 'Wedding Rings' and 'In This Place'. Then there are demos from 2002. There was even a demo of us doing a Rose song called 'Walkin' For Miles'.
