| Do you remember those Australian rockers? They released "Doxology", "Not The Criminal" and "Tears To Dust" for a long time it was quiet ... very quiet around those progressive rockers.
A very cool song was "Shadows".
In April of this year Teramaze releaded a new album "Anhedonia".
Click on the link below to get an impression how "Anhedonia" sounds.
What do you think about this new album? You like it ... or you really don't like it?

| I have the cd and love it. This returns Teremaze to their metal roots. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| I streamed it, and while I think it is probably some of the best music they have done (technically), it tends to lean too much towards thrash for my tastes. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

While it does have thrash overtones, it is still very melodic throughout. I think you'd get into this more than you think. I can't stand most thrash, and I am loving this album. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| It's definitely a good add if you liked the Boarders stuff. This may be Teremaze's best effort yet!

| This sounds AWESOME!!!
I'll be picking it up for SURE!
Not sure about that Boarders comparison though... Boarders is a Megadeth "copy-cat"... I'm hearing A LOT of Dream Theater in this (music, not vocals).

| Not sure about that... I'd have to check it again and listen closer to the guitars. But Boarders actually has a Megadeth cover on their "The World Hates Me" album, so that pretty much says it all right there. And beside that, the tuning of the guitar is not all there is to a musical style. Whatever they are tuned to, their styling is definitely Megadeth influenced. As a huge Megadeth fan myself, I can guarantee that. The only real exception I see is the first track, "True Rebellion", which sounds like a cross between Megadeth and something Bloodgood would have on the "All Stand Together" album. =------- | |

| OK, Boarders follow-up after some research and checking the music against my guitar, just to clear this up... I can't speak for their 1st or 3rd albums, 'cause I only have their 2nd ("The World Hates Me"). But there is no drop tuning or low tuning of any kind on THAT album, anyway. It's all standard (concert) tuning, with one song being in A. Maybe their new album ("R-Existence", 2012) is what you're referring to...? As for sounding like Megadeth... Here's proof positive of that: Between studio albums, they released a live album called "Tribute To Megadeth"! I think that says it all... Anyway, back to Teramaze... I'm a huge Dream Theater fan, and I'm hearing so much Dream Theater in the Teramaze clip I heard. So I'M IN! ---------- | |

| Yeah, I was talking about R-Existence. It'll be a while before I have TWHM on CD.
I'm not sure I like modern-proggy songs. So we'll see.

| I have never heard of this band. I streamed the album and found it a little darker sounding than I personally care for but from a musicians standpoint it is a solid album. |

| Musically it is fantastic, but sadly (for me) there are no hooks in the songs. That seems to be what's keeping me from getting into it. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I like Teramaze very much while I'm listening to them, but very little of it sticks with me. They are kind of like Symphony X in that way. |

| Symphony X... another awesome prog metal band! Sometimes their songs stick in my head, sometimes they don't... depends on my mood, I guess. But Dream Theater... now THERE'S a band that gets stuck in my head all the time!
Actually, of Teramaze, I only have the "Tears To Dust" album. I definitely want to pick up more.

Exactly! The difference is hooks. |
