| Seeing as I'm possibly getting a bit more mellow in my old age, I'm liking alot of hard and not so hard rock. I guess that is all born out by the fact that my album of 2010 was Disciples most radio friendly rock album they've ever done. Anyway, you guys know alot more them me about the TFK kind of scene, so are there any thumping good bands but with lyrics that are more open about their faith. Conspiracy Of Thought's new album is great, but the lack of any faith mentioned (clearly) in the songs has put me off buying it. The trouble is, if I go to cdbaby (or where ever) and go to the christian metal bit, then I get large, but copeable amount of albums to choose from. If however I go to the christian rock bit, then there's way too many to even begin to trawl through. Any help would be greatfully received. Fundy _________________ My Christian Metal Website......... | Fundy, I think this condition where bands do not have really clear lyrics regarding their faith is rampant and wide spread in the modern rock circles. It seems to be spreading into a lot of other genres now too.
Seems to me like many of these bands are just playing "Christian safe" music as opposed to music that shares the gospel. It's gotten to the point where I don't even pay much attention to the lyrics anymore. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I totally agree, and then you go to websites selling Christian Music and they are selling cds from bands that when you read the lyrics are no way biblical!!! I think the reason allot of the bands water down their lyrics is simply money, to sell more cds. Do not want to offend the world so they do not buy it.
When i was first saved, bands like Whitecross and others gave altar calls at their concerts for people to accept Christ!! Now It is all the show. There is very little ministry or even lifting up the Lord in any way. It is just a non-offensive Rock show!!
I Think the Lord has called us to be salt and light!! That should reflect in all areas of our lives!! Are we hiding our light in our lyrics? (under the bushel basket)
Well just my opinion. Besides he called all of us to go and make disciples, what a platform you have as a band why not use it!!

| No wonder it's called "commercial" rock. I went to see TFK last October, and they pretty much just played the songs with the typical banter ("How's it going… this one's from our album (album)…") and left. They did an autograph session after. For someone who likes the Daniel Band's lyrics, they leave me kinda underfeed, you know? Here's some links to the Noah Copeland stuff. http://soundcloud.com/crosswire/set-it-off http://soundcloud.com/crosswire/broken-wing http://soundcloud.com/crosswire/me http://soundcloud.com/crosswire/empty-wells | |

| Yet another reason why I listen to hardcore music. While there are obviously going to be some bands with watered down lyrics in the hardcore scene as well, there are A LOT of bands with really in-your-face lyrics. Phinehas is a prime example. | |

| Thanks for the posts guys. I'll keep my ears and eyes open. I'm really getting a kick out of Conspiracy Of Thought at the moment, but the lyrics are so 'safe' that I find there's no point in buying it, I might aswell go secular!

| If you want commercial rock with the message intact, go with Seventh Day Slumber. You can't go wrong there, Fundy. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |
