| Since I search cool music that lifts me up I wonder what music style has the most bold lyrics? Some lyrics in the hardrock and metal music lift me up but they don't always have a strong Christian message. Don't worry to much about this I still like hard music, but I think it has to do with the tings I struggle with.
I think there's really very rockin' praise & worship music. Not only the praise & worship music we sing in church.

| While it used to not be this way, I think that the CCM & praise/worship bands have the better lyrics nowadays. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| It Definately seems like the P&W and CCM artist's have the best lyrics nowadays (at least with regards to showing faith in Christ). I just wish I could listen to it more, and not get immensely tired of it. Seems that it has been the same thing with Pop music and me as long as I can remember. It ususally sounds really catchy at first but after repeated listens I seem to get really tired of it (regardless of the lyrics). _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... | I voted "other" because I think that much of modern music can't touch Traditional Hymns lyrically. I know that there are a gazillion people that think Trad. Hymns are "dead", but, pound-for-pound, IMO, their lyrics are deeper, more straight-forward (and, sometimes, as screwed up as moder PW/CCM, also). I am not saying that I want to listen to Hymns on my mp3 player , but, if it is just lyrical content, I got to go with them first.... (flame-on) | |

| I agree with Late, the old hymns have the best lyrics as they are generally deeper and more meaningful than most of the modern stuff. Of the choices in the poll I went for "Praise and Worship" as, by definition that has to be pretty bold in its lyrical approach. Fundy _________________ My Christian Metal Website......... | The old hymns are far from dead. I think a lot of people are just tired of them as they have sang the same songs all their lives. If I have to hear "I'll Fly Away" again, it will be too soon! I get really tired of some pop artists, too. The band's lyrical content has to really mean something to me, or the music gets old quick. Casting Crowns and Mercy Me are two that keep my attention with years worth of playing. But, I don't want to knock modern rock or metal bands with killer messages, either. Seventh Day Slumber writes some really meaningful songs for me. Letter 7, the new Titanic, Grimmark, etc. have some killer Christ focused songs, too. But, with the pop & worship scenes, it has always been about writing something that endears completely to the heart without going after great musicianship. I can think of dozens of pop bands that I can't tell you who the guitarist is due to him doing nothing to stand out. With hard rock/metal, musicianship is more of the focus while trying to make the music bridge the gap to reach the heart. In the end, it's all about whether our choices of media (music or otherwise) help to draw us closer to Christ or drive a wedge between us.

| My vote was given to praise & worship too. These songs don't have cool guitar riffs, but they have very bold lyrics about Jesus.
For me Seventh Day Slumber and Letter 7 have lyrics I really like. They mean something for me.
