| This was Becker's first album, released in 1987. I love this album. It sounds a bit like the secular band Heart back in the 80's. Upbeat melodic rock with some softer moments, and some hard rockin' moments. The lyrics are strong, and Becker certainly has the pipes! She didn't stick with the rock sound very long. Her 2nd album still rocked, but not quite as much, and after that, she all but abandoned rock entirely. But this album from '87 is excellent! Dann Huff does the lead guitar work, and Chris McHugh (of Whiteheart fame) did the drums. | |

| I have heard some of her later work and thought it sounded like much of popular Christian radio (ie not really my thing). However, I was a huge fan of Heart's 80's (as well as 70's) output. This sounds like a record I need to check out. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Like you, I also heard a lot of Ann Wilson in Becker's debut album. This was not so much the case on her subsequent projects, but I actually remember thinking "wow - could Ann Wilson have found Christ?" when I first heard a cut from the album (before I knew who it was) ... ah, memories ... | I am not familiar with Heart but got this one when it first came out. Her first albums are more rock and progress to pop rock and on towards pop in general. I got to see her live on this tour when she was touring with Rick Cua. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| To clarify - I did not actually mean to say that I did not like her subsequent albums (I did and I do!) ... I only meant that after "Never for Nothing" the Ann Wilson influence was not nearly as evident to me. Peace, Rob | |

| This is a great album. I didn't care for anything after Immigrant's Daughter at the time, but now I can appreciate her talent. I really enjoy the worship albums she has done with the woman from Iona. | |
