Jerusalem - "She"

I do not think a thread has been started on this album yet. So, what does everyone think about the new Jerusalem, "She"? Musically, I think it is stellar, perhaps the finest collection of songs from the group. And Ulf has never sounded better vocal wise.

The only complaint is that the album is a bit long at 70 minutes and it seems at times the group is trying too hard to sound like U2. Am I out of line here?

Hope to have the review ready this weekend, along with Stryper's "The Covering".

I absolutely loved this album! I echo your thoughts about the music and the vocals. Personally, I don't mind the fact that it's so long. IMO, I would much rather an album be too long than too short...as long as I enjoy their sound at least.

I haven't bought the tunes. I just am not a big fan of Jerusalem, and I don't think I really need another band that sounds like U2. MercyMe is trying too hard to do that.

I had a reissue of one of their older albums and just really couldn't get into it all.

I need to check out the new one though.

I don't follow this "it sounds like U2" thing. I own the entire (I think, lol) catalogues for both U2 and Jerusalem to boot. Perhaps an influence is there in She, but that's as far as it goes IMO.

That being said, the whole concept of God wooing His bride and delivering her from Babylon (the world's influence) works very well. The music also shreds.

I'm not a huge fan of Jerusalem, (probably a bit light for me) but some of the songs they've done are superb. I remember reading in HM that Volume 2 is supposed to be Jerusalems best, but I kinda digged Volume 1 where everything was simple and straightforward "Jesus is the most fantastic"!!!!!! Sort of song that makes you smile.

I also loved most of Dancing On The Head album. Really rockin' from start to finish.

'She' is a good album, but I can't seem to be able to listen to it all the way through as yet. I think maybe it's a bit too light for me, but I know that in time I will come to consider it very enjoyable, as that's what's happened with all the other Jerusalem albums I've listened to.
