Any new Christian melodic metal out there?

I'm not into the modern stuff at all. I like melodic hard rock and heavy metal the best. There sure seems to be a real drought of this kind of music in the Christian market. What little there is has not appealed that much to me. I miss the 80's....

I was going to suggest Testify, but they might not be melodic enough for you.
I'm assuming you picked up the Legacy re-issue?

With Lynn Lowery from Vixen on vocals, I would try the new Testify. You can find it and hear samples at CD Baby, FOJ.

As far as 80's style stuff, there is NOTHING new out there that you can order at this time.

Even as far as modern stuff goes, this year has been somewhat of a musical drought. Even with my much reduced CD buying budget, I am not buying many titles and am keeping up fairly well.

I listened to the new Testify and I just didn't like it. Thanks for the suggestion, tho.

You might also try the the Line Of Fire CD. It won't be explicitly Christian lyrics, but the songs are written by a fellow believer.

Also in the "secular band with Christian member(s)" camp there is also the new Giant album that came out this year.

I think Pretty much until one of the classic groups finally delievers on releasing a new album Justin Murr and LnJ is our only hope in this realm of music. And that is a good hope because his stuff is top of the line

We did get a new Audiovision disc this year. I don't know if you got that or not, FOJ. It's a solid project all the way through.

I don't know if you like Stairway, but they also did a new CD this year.

Other than that, it's mostly been a reissue year. The only other metal albums that I remember buying besideds Audiovision and Stairway were the new ones by Lordchain and Testify. If you didn't like Testify, I wouldn't recommend the new Lordchain to you either.

I'm diggin' it, though!
