| Here's a new band for you guys and gals out of Nashville. They have finished recording/mixing their debut CD, and it will be available at the end of Jan. 2010. If you like your rock in a more classic vein, then you will probably love this.
You can catch Straight Edge touring some with Eden's Way this spring and summer.

| The guitarist for Straight Edge is Mark Howell. He did the leads on Mission Of One's "Show Me The Way" CD. Great player. I almost was in this band a few years back under another name, but things just did not work out. Regardless, this band has some great chops, some strong songs, and I'll definitely be getting the CD when it's out. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| Sounds very cool. So Mark moved on to this band, or are their other members from that bands as well? _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| They don't sound to bad but that is a pretty poor choice for a name. Straight edge is a term that Ian Mckaye of seminal hardcore band Minor Threat started in the early 80's. It has nothing to do with being that way because of religious beliefs. Very suprised they were even allowed to use it really. I'm sure there will be a few very disappointed people that blindly buy this simply because of their name. If no description of the band was given I might be one of them. | |

No, members changed around, but this was always his project. Some of the songs are the same tunes I learned when I was practicing with them. They have taken a harder edge to them, though. It sounds like, to me, that Mark has the right people with him to share his vision and share the stage with him. - Quote :

I think it would be hard to copyright just two words put together. However, the term "straight edge" is the term for a razor long before it became attached to the hardcore scene. I doubt anyone is going to run out and buy this CD without even checking it out. People will find out about it, listen to the samples on MySpace, and choose to buy or ignore based on the sound. To me, the name has a very 80's rock feeling, and I don't think it will be a problem for the band--especially if they have the right logo for themselves. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| I think this will help them as it will break the stigma that they've run up on with people shutting them out over the silly straight-edge punk movement. Also, there were several other bands with the same name on MySpace.
The new name of the band is Kingdom Reign.

| Now that I listen to them again, they sound WAY more polished than I remembered them being for some odd reason. If they put out a full length I'll be all over this. | |

| I don't think that the CD is out yet. It will be a full length disc.
