What did you think of that? I liked it overall but was a little disappointed that it dealt with such a brief period in his life. I thought Daniel Day Lewis and Sally Fields did a great job. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Not what I expected (focusing essentially solely on the passing of the 13th). Yes, it would have been nicer if it had included more of his life.
I was curious just how historically accurate it was re: the various "concessions" to get the 13th passed vs artistic license (or Hollywood hogwash). _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

| Contagion - What. A. Boring. Movie. You'd think a newer movie than the old classic "Outbreak" would be head-and-shoulders above, but my gosh that sucked. 2 out of 10 So I wanted a movie to redeem that one and I watched the new Spiderman. Not bad. So much CGI that you practically don't need actors anymore. 6 out of 10 | |

Thanks for the warning. Seems like it should be good with a big cast and all. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

| I liked Contagion! I didn't think it was that bad!
The new Spidey movie--I can take it or leave it. The action scenes are fine, but I didn't connect with the actor playing Parker/Spidey and didn't like the change from Mary Jane Watkins to Gwen Stacy for the girlfriend while in high school. Overall, I felt that Tobey MacGuire captured the essence of a struggling genius trying to be a super hero while barely balancing college, a girlfriend, and making a living as a photographer. Ok, I think they nailed it with the first two Spidey movies. I still don't care for Spiderman 3 all that much. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

Agreed But as far as him dating Gwen, that's old school original story there. I liked seeing several changes from the same old tired story. Connors hadn't been done yet, Gwen was Pete's first love (and what happened to her dad is in the old original story), Peter's POWER was way cool - I love the effortless strength, as a true spider's proportional strength would be, and yes, the action scenes were incredible, clearly CGI (but there ain't nothin wrong wit dat if it's done right, which it was), it was cool to see more of his childhood, and a bit of a change in the whole Uncle Ben story. And it was so nice to NOT hear the same old "with great power.. blah blah blah" saying...

| Gone in 60 seconds (2000 version)
Original version was filmed near our neighborhood in Los Angeles when I was a kid. My brothers got to watch a portion being filmed... pretty cool.
