He stole the DeLorean, went back to '55 with the Almanac, then came back and had a heart attack ? or what happened to him ? He gets out of the time machine clutching his chest and falls behind the dumpsters like he died.... what did I miss ? That was weird. I never quite understood it either. Also like you I'm bummed about the cursing. I think the PG-13 rating really kind of helps with that know. Back when they were doing the BTTF films (at least the first one anyway) there was no PG-13 rating, so there are several of those old 80's films that are rated PG, but are really just shy of being R rated films. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Agreed. I remembered Fast Times at Ridgemont High being hilarious, but I also remembered it being a little nasty. So when it came on TV a while back, I thought I'd get some laughs at old Spicoli without the nasty stuff... WRONG ! I didn't get but a few minutes into the movie and realized that they show and say a lot more on TV than they used to allow. Changed that channel quick! I got a lot of 80s movies from Clean Films, and some I'd recorded from TV back in the 90s when they cut all the trash out of them. I'm almost finished watching BTTF 2 and am pleased that the writers didn't include misuse of God's Name as they did in #1.

| Haven't watched them yet, but my son-in-law and I went to the Swap meet and I scored the 1st 3 seasons of Emergency! and season 1 of Adam 12. The cool thing about these 2 series is, they were both filmed where I lived as a kid. I remember my brothers and I going about 3 blocks from our house to watch the filming of these shows (I was about 7 years old). Pretty exciting. In fact the hospital that they always showed in Emergency! was just a few blocks from our house (They also filmed the soap show "General Hospital" there). | |

| Mickey (not your normal Grisham screenplay - good family flick if you like sports) Smile (based on Operation Smile but lots of sexual innuendo with main character until leaving for China) The Secret Life of Bees (tissues may be in order) Amish Grace (good flick) Courageous (ditto) Soul Surfer again (ditto) _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

Is that from a few years ago where the typical american spoiled girl goes to China and it totally changes her life ? If that's the same movie, that was pretty darn good. It's been a while since I saw it, but it was an impacting movie.

| Yes, it was from 2004 I think. She seeks out a Chinese teen that missed out on the operations the previous year.
As far the sexual innuendo, she dresses provocatively, there's significant displays of affection and her mom gets her birth control so she is safe when she "experiments". Thankfully, she doesn't go that far. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

Unfortunately even the most well intentioned hollywood movies have to get their grimey hands in and stink them up a bit. Par for the course.

| Amish Grace was a good film--it was based on a true story. I bought it for my wife who likes a lot of Amish fiction. Ok, I thought the film looked good and bought it for her so I could watch it, too.

How did they get the Amish people on a set with electronics? Isn't that blasphemy?

You CRIED? What a girly man! OK, confession time. I sometimes cry during movies. I remember the first time I got teary eyed. I was watching Star Trek: Generations and they destroyed the Enterprise from The Next Generation. That really broke my heart. I can't watch The Passion anymore because I bawl through the entire second half of it....can't see the subtitles at all. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

I was going to list it as Amish Grace (make sure you have tissues), but decided on (good flick) so I didn't appear too wussy. Safe Harbor was a good flick, too. Should require few if any tissues. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

| Unstoppable (oddly enough they managed to stop it). would have been a keeper if it wasn't for the language and the (at least one occasion of) taking the Lord's name in vain. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

It's a cool alien monster flick with an ET kind of ending. The language is pretty rough, though, so you might not want to show this to the kids. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

The story of a blind, black pianist in the '50s United States. The odd bad word and the odd inappropriate scene, but kinda cool. Our music class watched it.

| EMERGENCY!
Seasons 1 through 3. My wife's dad was a chief firefighter and they grew up watching it, as did I since most episodes were filmed in my "backyard" when I was growing up in L.A. We're on episode 3 and are surprised at how good they were. We thought they'd be a little cheesy, but the filming and acting were actually really good for 1972.

| Narnia-The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. It was my son's turn to pick a movie (he is 11), I probably haven't seen that in more than 2 years. I forgot how good it was. Sadly I get the feeling we won't see a fourth installment in the series. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."
