The A Team - A lot of fun, and they took the source material seriously. This is a good example of a relaunch. I had my doubts, but this is really a good action flick. Ok, "flying" a tank is a bit far fetched, but still fun nonetheless. We weren't exactly expecting a thinking man's movie with this.

The Last Airbender
- Why did I waste my $1 at the Redbox machine? I could have put that money towards trying a MickeyDee's Frappe instead. This was just boring. The characters never grab you, and neither does the storyline. Maybe I would have liked this if I were a fan of the anime cartoon. As it was, it just shows that M. Night Shyamalan is not the director he used to be. Since "Signs", his movies have gotten crappier and crappier.

Salt Thumbs Up

I didn't realize it at first but the Director is the same guy that did Patriot Games,Clear and Present Danger,The Saint, and even The Bone Collector.

Salt.
The way the movie ends seems to suggest that there may be a sequel.

That's a bummer, cuz his "Grinch" was fantastic and is another 'must see' each Christmas. We were so hoping he could wake the "carol" up a bit with his talent.
Sad

I thought his performance in "The Grinch..." was really good too.
Something about his personality really gets lost in the Scrooge character though. And overall the movie seemed a little dark and morbid (especially for younger kids). There is also an action"rollercoaster" type scene that looks as if it was intentionally forced into the film just so they could tie the movie into a video game or theme park ride.
I would definately recommend "The Polar Express" over this film if you are looking for a better example of a quality motion-capture animation film.

We got a commercial-less recording off TV years ago and it's on the yearly "must see" list

Can you choose a "which is better" between the two ?

As an avid reader of graphic novels, I personally thought both were great and true to the original

I don't know if anyone read the whole series of Civil War (that results in the death of Captain America), but that whole story would be incredible on the silver screen.

I could not pick which was better. I actually feel that one is just the extention of the next. Both were done very well, and I am looking forward to getting Thor and Capt. America on the big screen, another Hulk movie with the current lineup, and then the Avengers movie. That will be killer.

Thor, Capt. America, the Avengers = YAY
Hulk = NAY

All Hulk movies have sucked. It would take a great story to restore my desire to sit thru another one.

You didn't like the last one where they sort of did the sequel/restart? I thought the most recent one was awesome. It corrected a lot of the backstory.

Guess I'm not a big fan of the Hulk, never have been (sept for some of the Lou Ferrigno series when I was a kid)... The first big screen was borrrrring, the 2nd one my son and I watched on dvd and I don't remember anything outstanding. Maybe we'll rent it again and see if it was a mood thing.

+1 Now, if the Marvel whizzes had only retained Edward Norton's services for The Avengers, the continuity would help make that film even more cool-sounding. Cool

I had not heard of that. I will have to be sure to email the network and ask them to keep it on. There are some kids who need some "tough love" to straighten out.

You know what the worst thing about that show is? No, it's not how they treat the kids. It's sad that we as a society now NEED programs like this for youth to get their lives back on track.

Last night, on DVD: Amish Grace
