| Decent interview, glad to hear that I wasn't the only one who didn't really care for the "Wire" album. I really like his (David Carr's) attitude about the band. -- _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Yeah, he seems like someone you'd really just like to hang out with. I liked "Wire" musically, but lyrically this is what caused a lot of fans to get off the train on this disc. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| But, I am more than interested to see where they go on their upcoming CD in January. In the interview, Carr said that they were doing a studio disc, but were going to try to capture how they sound/feel live. That could be pretty cool.

Yes, that could be really cool. You got the last album (Wherever You Are), how do you think it compared to Wire (I have yet to hear it)? _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

While being a drastic difference, somehow it still comes off sounding like Third Day. "Whever You Are" mixes in some of your modern alternative rock without going for the crunchy guitars like Jonah33 or Kutless. Plus, Third Day worked very hard at keeping their guitar tones very similar to put people on a familiar feeling with the newest CD. "Wire" was both good & bad. Lyrically, it was meant to be a secular crossover album. I hated it at first due to the change in direction with lyrics. But, musically, it was a "greatest styles" disc encompassing bits and pieces of everything they'd done genre wise. With time, however, I have grown to like this disc as much as any other disc in the Third Day catalog. As far as Christian pop rock bands go, Third Day continues to be one of my favorites, and I look forward to several more years worth of great releases from them. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

Same here, one of the few rock bands my wife and I love together and have seen 3 times in concert.

| My wife just adores Mac Powell's voice. He is one of the few people on the radio that she will actually turn the volume UP for. So, I listen to a lot of Third Day around her. She also likes Bart Millard of Mercy Me and Mark Hall of Casting Crowns. So, we listen to a lot of them when we're together. When I'm alone, I crank up the heavier stuff!
