| With the new members we have gotten last months I thought it might be interesting to start a musical roll call. To know more about the musical interest of the CHM members.
Some love rock, others love extreme rock. We might have a different tast in music, but we all love Christian music.
Now. It's my turn to start.
Discovered Christian hard rock in 2000.
My favorite music styles are Christian hard rock, metal, the old school stuff, modern rock, hair metal and all other stuff that rocks my socks off.
Favorite bands for now are. Disciple, Mission Of One ,Nailpoint, Testify, Under Command. Rose, Mad At The World, Stryper, Whitecross, Mastedon.
Come on and give us your musical roll call.

| I discovered Christian music around '85 with Stryper. But, I didn't know that they were not the only band out there like that. I really discovered the whole Christian scene in 1990.
I love classic metal & hard rock (long live the 80's!), modern rock, and worship music. I like some CCM bands, but I wouldn't call that my favorite.
Favorite artists for now: Rose, MATW, Kutless, Disciple, Seventh Day Slumber _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| Well lets see, I believe I discovered the wonders of Christian rock/hard rock back in 2001 or so.
I like pretty much every style of Christian music under the sun (with the exception of country and most rap). My favorite styles are hard rock, progressive metal, blues rock/metal, modern rock, Southern Metal, and hardcore (cookie-monsterish).
My favorite bands at this particular moment in time are: RED, Disciple, Pillar, Nailpoint, P.K. Mitchell, Dishwater Blonde, Guardian, Haste the Day, The Showdown, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, Mad Max, Harmony, Darkwater, and Seventh Avenue.

| Was aware of Christian music since I got interested in it in 1989... had no clue of the VAST array of styles and multitudes of bands out there until around '99 to 2001-ish when I started getting really into the scene. I (like Silentthunder) am a fan of endless styles of music (as long as it is clean and God-glorifying). I'm one of the few here that can actually say I like some country and some rap. (everybody at once: "oooooohhhhhhh" ) My tastes vary with my schizophrenic moods, from DCTalk to Mortification, from Christafari to Inked in Blood, from Brush Arbor to Rackets and Drapes.... My current favs spinnin right now are: Theocracy (mirror), REZ (reach of love), Living Sacrifice (self titled) and The Blamed (21) | |

| Well I first heard of Christian rock back in the mid 80's when someone introduced me to Stryper, but other than Petra I didn't know of any other Christian rock bands. I finally started discovering the wealth of Christian rock and metal bands in 2004/2005. My favorite style of music is Classic Metal, Hard Rock (yes long live the 80's) but over the past years I have also warmed up to some Doom, Power metal, Modern Rock, and even some CCM. Favorite Bands (at the moment): Red Sea, Saint, Sacred Warrior, Hammertown, Rose, Place of Skulls, Third Day _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

I remember the Jonah 33 show. But, I think that was Building 429 and 33 Miles I took all you guys to see. The only time I have seen Fusebox was when they opened for Rebecca St. James, and I went alone to that show. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| Been a metalhead/punk rocker since 83. Didn't hear of any Christian bands until 93 (Barren Cross) and I had no interest in getting to know them either. In 98 I started listening to quite a few Christian bands and actually listened to Christian only for a few years. A few years ago I returned to listening to everything I loved and missed, though I do keep a couple of bands out of the collection now. I like a lot of different stuff but hair metal and hardcore punk are definitely my favorite two genres. Strange I know but it's been that way since middle school.
Very Favorite Bands:
7 Seconds Minor Threat Chain of Strength Faith Youth of Today Anti-Heros Holy Soldier (Steven Patrick era) Barren Cross Whitecross Queensryche (old) Def Leppard (old) Testament Metallica (old and the newest one) Machine Head Killswitch Engage Project 86 Stavesacre Spoken Journey (Steve Perry era) Oh gosh and so many more...

Never heard of them.... style ? from ? Any good ? Modern Rock, not sure where they were from, but I believe one of the front men (singer or guitarist) passed away (rather young too). So only the one album. Very good. One of the very first "modern rock" bands I would give the time of day. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Hammertown is a nice band Gary. When I feel better I'll e-mail you some songs so you can listen.
I think most of us discovered Christian music by Stryper. Stryper was the first Christian rock band I listened too.

| Wow the sound quality on that was so bad I couldn't even tell which song it was.
Cafepress sells that Hammertown disc for $5.99. Their site claims to have sound samples but they won't work for me.

| I became a Christian on Dec. 31 1979. I went to a church that was very anti- any rock. I burned all my music. I was tricked into auditioning for Stevie and The Saints. (Long story). That was the first Christian rock I had ever heard. First album I bought was Yellow and Black Attack. Then it was ON. Could not get enough. But I love the 80"s stuff, especially the L.A. guys probably because we all played the club scene together. BTW Guilty/ Forgiven, I am just down the road from you in DHS. | |

Sounds like a very interesting story and I (for one) would like to hear it, but I understand if you don't want to get into it. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."
