German Family Seeks U.S. Asylum to Homeschool Kids

We've applied for home schooling and got turned down. I then went to the U.S. Consulate in Frankfurt and got official support from the assistant Consul General. After the local German authorities were reminded that U.S. citizens enjoy certain waivers in a country that is still legally ruled by U.S.-German post war treaties, they conceded. We only wanted to home school our kids each time the children enter the fourth grade. That is the year Germans teach sex education to children. We think it's irresponsible for German educators to teach children in sex ed. class that homosexuality is ok, and a normal thing for couples to do. Not to mention teaching it to children at the age of ten.

Not sure why the Germans are so militant against home-schooling.
I have read articles about German families moving to India to be able to home-school their children (India!?).

We home school ourselves and our German exchange student thought we were a little crazy, but then after spending a few months in our public school system here in the U.S. (and realizing what a joke it was academically) she figured we weren't that crazy after all.

Not to worry my friend. In the state of Kalifornication, they are actively trying to outlaw homeschooling, and as California does, the rest of the Obamanation will do also.

If you allow parents to teach their kids, then you have taken away government indoctrination. In my opinion, that's a GREAT reason to keep the trolls at home, but then most of the kids I know who have been home schooled are also about 1 I.Q. point above braindead. Use our very own Timbo (drumdude) as a prime example....

I'm glad that this German family has found a way to homeschool their kids, but as Sabidoo pointed out, it is just a matter of time until that right in the USA is stripped away.

Yes we have been watching the state of California very carefully.
What is absurd is that they have no valid reason for preventing families from home-schooling their children.
