| It's all a matter of opinion really, but to me "hard music" implies lighter stuff than most metal boards, things that would not be considered heavy metal, but hard rock. I think it's a good reflection of the musical styles that generally get discussed here.
I don't see that there was any intention to be divisive, though. It's all just opinions. |

| Love your playlists there MetalFRO. In my house our music tastes are as eclectic as can be. My wife is a classical violinist, and just hates any form of Core or Screamo music. My youngest son loves LeCrae and Manafest as well as Demon Hunter. My daughter listens to rock and hard rock and my oldest son is a big fan of indi and screamo. As for me, I'll listen to anything that doesn't insult my intelligence. The band has to have some talent and know what they are about...or it goes into the bin. I'm a big fan of Tourniquet as well as Jerusalem and Demon Hunter, though my favorite all around genres are Prog and Hard Rock. | |

| Thanks guys! I appreciate the comments, and glad you're enjoying the show! In case I forgot to mention it, the 3rd Sunday of each month is a "theme" episode where I highlight a particular band, genre, or "theme" of some kind. This month's theme is "Epics and Long Songs". The playlist will be deceptively short | |

God, I loved these guys back in the day ! Seeing their name on your playlist brought back memories and I had to dig out their albums again ! They really had some talent but didn't take themselves all seriously and crap. First few albums were very talented, but then Bookaboom came out and ruined it for me. That album was horrible. But I rate their first 3 at a 10 ! Really loved the sound and their heart behind the music. PS - sure wish your radio show was downloadable like Topshot's. I don't have time to listen when it plays... I download the Monkey's show and play it in my truck as an alternative to the trashy local radio stations... gee, wally, I sure wish I could do that with your show and all. Golly.

| Yeah, because of legal issues I haven't made my show available. That, and my PC needs a serious memory upgrade before it can handle the extra threading required to record a file of that size during the broadcast | |

That's the bummer part of it... when I was a teener in the mid 80s, all we did was sit around and record radio shows (KMET, KNAC, etc) - those were the days. Then in my Christian early years, I loved recording KLRD and esp the REALITY ROCK show (it was like a Christian "headbanger's ball") (God, I wish I still had those old shows on cassette). I don't think there's any legalities about a radio show, since the songs blend together and the DeeJay's yappin [ no offense :-) ] during the end/beginning of most songs. It's not like anyone's making money off the songs, or you're getting a high quality copy of them. Oh well, they have their reasons, I guess

Oh man when I was a teen we used to record a lot of stuff off the radio. There was this two hour show on Wednesday nights on KISW called "The Metal Shop" if you used a 90 minute tape and paused during the commercials you could usually get a full show on one tape. Heard all kinds of unknown bands that way. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| "Metal Shop" was a nationally syndicated show--or at least the one I used to listen to was. They aired every Saturday night. Many stations around the country would air the show at their own time, though. Our local rock station at the time carried this live. Unfortunately, WKDF is now a country station. 102.9 used to be a country station and is now the local rock station. Weird. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |
