| Looks like the long rumored false start re-start of Guardian is back on. Got this from Jamie Rowes website and it sounds very promising. I am now about 90% optimistic that new music will arrive http://rowejamie.blogspot.com/ | |

| I hope they can work things out and continue to make music. But, until I hold the CD in my hot little hands, then I'm not really going to get excited. Too many bands, including Guardian, have promised big comebacks only to disappoint us time and time again. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| It's very disappointing when you are looking forward to the comeback of a band you like and it's never going to happen. | |

| I kind of lost respect for those guys back in the mid-90's. They were using tracks in their concerts for extra drum loops and BGV's to sound more polished. | |

| You guys will hate me for this but.... just like Petra, there's a time to move on. Their best was accomplished - I loved Guardian and saw them 4 or 5 times in concert, getting all their albums and playing them to death... but, retirement is inevitable and in my opinion, if a band popped out 5 or more albums and they dis-band, there's no need to come back and pop out more stuff that sounds the same. Unless, they can put a new twist to it. I really admired Jamie for his solo stuff ("Beautiful"), totally diff sound. THAT I like, but ie Petra for example, even his solo stuff sounded just like petra. So what I'm saying is, if Guardian hooks up again, it would be refreshing to hear something different, expand the talent we all know they have. that's my opinion | |

| I can kind of see where you're gong with that, but then you also have to look at Saint. They went away for quite a number of years. They came back with "The Perfect Life" ep that the fans just did not want. They were trying something different, and we did not want it. The result? They came back and gave us their two best albums ever IMO: "In The Battle" and "The Mark". Sometimes, new tricks from old dogs is not what the fans will support.
With Guardian, they had already tried the new stuff before they folded. The old school fans did not accept "Buzz" and "Bottle Rocket" at all. To hope to have any success at all, Guardian is going to have to find a way to try some new things while setting it in a style & sound that the old fans, the people most likely to buy their music, will love. Stryper did not do that with "Reborn", and most of their fans consider it a musical turd. With the clips we've heard from "Murder By Pride", Stryper is bringing back a classic rock feel with some modern rock overtones. Without it, they know that this reunion gig won't last as we the fans will get tired of Stryper chasing trends.
Regardless, Guardian will have to think about their hardcore fans and what made "Miracle Mile" and "Fire & Love" the commercial successes that they were. Without those fans, Guardian will just be another old people band that today's youth will not appreciate. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| Judging by the fact that they're bringing back the original lineup, I don't think the new stuff will be too much different from the old stuff. Although with the addition of the new guitarist, I think they're saying they're willing to try to re-vamp their sound. | |

I don't hate you, but I do want to beat you with a stick (j/k) But seriously I think alldat has a point when saying that long time fans won't usually put up with an "old dog performing new tricks". Unless they are putting out muisc just to make themselves happy (and possibly sell very few albums) it would probably be in their best interest to at least attmept to cater to their fan base. But this is me holding my breath I'll believe it when I see it, but even then if it sounds like "Bottle Rocket" I won't be buying. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... | We don't hate you Guilty. It's ok to stay here even if you are a Petra fan Sometimes a musical break for band can be very good.

| I to Alldat will be more of a believer when the music is out. That's why I am at 90%. Nothing leads me to believe that this time will be like the others. They played in front of 80,000 fans in South America and seemed to get energized by it. Remember Stryper didn't really come back till they went on thier tour for 7. Now granted Guardian isn't going to draw that big of a crowd in the United States. But also, this isn't thier full time job any more. They can maintain thier non-Guardian lives and still crank out music without having to tour for it. I think the only reason it never really got off the ground in the past was because Tony wasn't exactly up for it and they are all busy. I expect the album to be more in the Miracle Mile/Adriangale type genre. I highly doubt it will be in the Bottle Rocket/Buzz era sound. Either way it will rock and it shall be mine. This is the #1 reunion I have been waiting for and it's months, weeks, etc from happening. 1 down like 10 to go. | |

When they were talking about new material a couple of years ago, they were then saying that they were hoping to mix the sound of "Miracle Mile" with "Buzz" for kind of a Velvet Revolver kind of sound. If they can get that mix down, then they will perhaps create, IMO, their greatest record yet.

| Heres a link to a blog that describes what exactly House of Guardian is: http://rollandrock.typepad.com/davidbach/2009/02/guardian-in-the-house.html
It sounds pretty neat, I think its a really good idea.
