Back in October, my wife bought a really nice squirrel feeder for me for my birthday. I didn't get it moutned outside for a couple of weeks. Then, it took a couple of weeks for my little furry friends to discover this new food source.
I have two to three squirrels out there every morning. I can hear the lid on the top of it opening and closing, and then I go watch them out the front door. I'd love to get pictures, but opening the door would scare them away.
The birds come and watch them eat. The birds want that sweet corn, but this feeder is designed to keep the birdies out. I like squirrels. The birds can go to my wife's parents house for a meal for all I care.
The largest squirrel I have nicknamed "Fatboy". If you saw this behemoth rodent, then you'd understand why! He's freakin' huge! He is very territorial and is the only squirrel that eats from the feeder. He has a buddy that comes with him and sits on the ground below. I call him "Little Boy" because of his size comparison to Fatboy. Fatboy will pull out kernals of corn and throw them down for Little Boy, but Little Boy is never allowed to eat directly from the feeder. Fatboy will sometimes eat part of a kernal and toss the remainder to Little Boy. Other times, he will throw the whole kernal. But, when Fatboy discovers the hidden peanuts, he keeps them to himself.
When the bluejays come around trying to get some food, both squirrels will take off after these birds and chase them away. It's like Mother Nature's own WWE Smackdown. I think that the squirrels are the champs as they come back on most days when it's in the 40's and not raining.
Then it is sad when my squirrel friends get their bellies full and go off for a day of frolicking in all the surrounding yards.

Animals can give much joy. We don't have squirrells around the house anymore. We had one years ago but the squirrel is poof gone.
In spring I get a new baby bunny. Yes, I really love to get one now. It's the coldest winter in 12 years here. At night it's 40 here now it's around 32.
I rescued the froggies in the frozen pund yesterday.

As much as you dislike frogs, you should have let them freeze!

Are the squirrels in the US black and gray? Here the squirrels are red-brown.

I think that's just poor lighting. The squirrels around my house are mostly gray with white bellies.
Out west, you have more of the reddish-brown squirrels with the white bellies.

Man you guys have been busy since I was gone yesterday. Those squirrel vids are hilarious. (yes we do have gray, and red/brown squirrels in the U.S.)
I used to go to college on a campus that had more trees than students, and dozens of very large gray squirrels (some of them bigger than a dachshund). They were also very bold. If you set your food down (right next to you) on one of the many benches (outside). A squirrel would dash up and snatch it away. They are several narrow paved paths leading through the trees to other campus buildings. On more that one occasion I had to move out the way of one of these squirrels, because some of them refuse to move if you are crossing their pathway. If a student failed to show up to school more than one day in a row, people would joke that a squirrel must have got them.

BTW I think you should name the two "Fat Man" and "Little Boy".
