In the fall of 2007 Matt Hunt from Retroactive Records asked me to do
another Seventh Power CD. He told me "while I was at it" to do an
instrumental CD with Robert Sweet, like it's no big deal, right? So we
threw some material together, and Robert tracked the drums to it. Matt
Hunt(the Dean of Retroactive Records), decided to call the group "Bill
Menchen". I was trying to think of an outrageous musician that I knew
that I could fill out the sound, and remembered that I had become
acquainted with Tony Franklin a few years earlier. I got in touch with
him, and he agreed to do it. After Matt Hunt heard the three of us
recorded he said it was "too good to not have vocals". So we searched
for a singer. The end result was Ken Redding formerly of His Witness,
who also has their long overdue CD coming out on Retroactive Records
this fall. After hearing the final result Matt Hunt decided to change
the name of the group to "Menchen". So there you have it, this whole
thing is not my fault (or credit?).
This is what I have found on MySpace and thought it's interesting to know now the new album of Menchen will be released soon.
