| The winner of the elections is the person who has gotten the most votes? Or is there an other rule?
Mr. Obama is Senator, what's a Senator doing? Do you have to be a senator to be a candidate for the presidentship? Is the new president taking new ministers for the government?
What is going to happen with the loser of the elections?

| A Senator is in one portion of Congress where there are 2 per state. The House of Representatives is the other part and that is based upon population of the state. There are 435 total of them.
Any US-born citizen can run for president.
McCain will likely remain a Senator. He has 2 more years on his current term.
It's the most votes of the "electoral college", not the actual number of people. Each state is worth a certain number of votes, based on population like the House of Reps. If a candidate wins the popular (people's) vote in a state, they get all the electoral votes for that state, not just the percentage of the popular vote. Thus, it's possible to win the overall popular vote but not win. It's happened 4 times, the last time was in 2004. It's pretty complicated but back when we were founded it made more sense to do it this way. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

| With the votes mostly counted, Obama has won both the popular and electorial votes by a landslide. | Again some questions.
What's the American Dream? What's the difference between the Congress and The House of Representatives? The Senator's are only in the Congress? Does that mean that big states like Texas and California have more members in The House of Representatives than a smaller state like Delaware?

Yes, but they all have the same number of Senators (2), including the District of Columbia. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

Yes, but they all have the same number of Senators (2), including the District of Columbia. And that explains why a presidential candidate can win NY, FL, TX, PA, OH and CA and have nearly enough electoral votes to win the white house. Kinda sucks, huh?
