| http://www.myspace.com/thebandprodigal For those of you that have discussing classic rock here is a band from my part of the world that plays a very cool sounding "Classic Christian Rock" as they describe it. - Quote :
- PRODIGAL is a C.C.R. band....Yeah that's right, CHRISTIAN CLASSIC ROCK, didn't know there was such a thing? You bet! Welcome to the Prodigal MYSPACE site guys! You can kick your shoes off, lean back and stay awhile. The band is all about the music but mainly the message! We do our best to give you a inspirational message with out loosing the musical integrity of the songs that we some times cover. We do half- remakes of Classic Rock hits and half original songs. Miss the heart ripping guitar solo's of the 60's,70's and 80's masters like Santana? Soaring vocals reminiscent of HEART and Aerosmith? The deep and passionate songs written with whispering similarities of Bob Dylan, How about the thundering bass and drums from bands like Led Zepplin or the Doors? You CAN have it all while experiencing the message of forgiveness and hope. Thanks for stopping by, give us a listen!
There is a pretty cool parody/cover tune on their player called "Sweet Jehova" done to the tune of Aerosmiths "Sweet Emotion" _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I'll have to check them out. I'm a huge fan of ApologetiX, so they should be right up my alley | |

| It does look as if the parody song might just be a one-off sort of thing. Most of the rest of their stuff looks to be original. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Staybrite should read what he is quoting in the first post: - Quote :
- We do half- remakes of Classic Rock hits and half original songs.

True dat, what an idiot that Staybrite character is huh? (maybe we should call him Staydim). But seriously, I was refering to their recorded music. According to what I can see on their Myspace page it looks like they only have an EP. There are four songs on their myspace player. And from what I can tell only one of them is a parody/remake. So if those are the only songs on their EP, there is only one parody tune. I can imagine when they play live they might do all kinds of them. But hey what do I know. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| The first song is not so cool. The other songs I like much more.
Staybrite .... a Staydim ....?
Sweet Jehova is a cool song. From what band was the original song from? Or is this a silly question? | |

Yes that is correct the original song was "Sweet Emotion" (from way back in the 1970's if memory serves me correctly) _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."
