| I think most everyone has heard of the band Korn. A few years ago, their guitarist Brian "Head" Welch left the band due to becoming a Christian. He needed to leave behind the explicit lyrics, drugs, wild sexual escapades, etc. to become a better man and father. Now, he releases his first CD called "Save Me From Myself". Following in the musical footsteps of Korn's brand of nu-metal, the new CD deals with topics such as freedom from drug addiction, death of organized fake religions, worshipping God, etc. You can find out more on Head's website: http://www.brianheadwelch.net/ Or, head over to his MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/brianheadwelch _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| I was coming here just to see if anyone was getting this. Sounds pretty decent to me. If anyone does, I'd like a few tracks since I don't think I'll get service from Warner. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

| I'm going to Lifeway today to get the new SonicFlood disc and might get this too. I'll listen to more of the CD on the SoundScan machine before I decide, though. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| I wanna like it, but the few tracks I have heard didn't really float my boat. I don't think there was any vocals, so I need to check them out again. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I listened to the tracks at his MySpace page and this is really not my cup of tea. Just cannot get into the screamed vocals. I can see how others might get into this, though. | |

| To be honest Head is not really my cup of tea. My problem is the screaming vocals and the fact I have albums on my want list I like much more. | |

| My curiosity got the best of me and I bought this disc. The vocals throughout go from throaty singing to extreme growls. Not usually my bag, but I thought I'd give it a shot.
Musically, you do have Head's signature guitar sound. However, if you're expecting Korn with clean lyrics, you've thought wrong. Head takes that nu-metal guitar tone and adds a goth feel to every tune. While all in that musical style, each song has it's own vibe and feeling that he wants to convey to the listener.
Lyrically, this is pretty blunt stuff. If you think Head got saved and was just going to do heavy P&W music, wrong again. He tackles some major issues like excessive drinking/drugs, child abuse, problems within the church/lack of concern for those outside Christianity, etc. While not expressly poetic, the songs themselves are beautiful do to the sheer honesty and conviction that you feel from each track.
Overall, it might not be your bag musically. But, this is a powerful & moving disc that will get played a lot. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/

| Give Head an other chance and listen again. What touched me is that this man has done a lot of things that hurt God. God's love touched Brian and see what happend. That's made me listen to Head again. | |

I agree, reading his book really made me appreciate his new album more. I like how he didn't hold back from putting anything in it. A little bad language, descriptions of his sexual escapades and his honesty about the drugs made it seem much more genuine and real to me. His album exhibits a lot of the same traits as well.
