Official "Fireproof" trailer up now

Sherwood Pictures, the company/church that brought us the movie "Facing The Giants", returns Sept. 26 with a brand new film called "Fireproof". It is the story of a fireman who saves lives and is a hero to many locals, but is less than a hit with the woman he is married to.

Looks pretty awesome.... I remember seeing the trailer for facing the giants as a preview with either the second chance or the third left behind or something along those lines but I haven't actually seen it yet. How was it?? In all honesty from the trailer I wondered if it might be a bit on the cheesy side but I've always been a fan of sport based plots and it did seem like it had a glint of remember the titans to it.

I thought Facing the Giants was fantastic!

I don't even like sports themed movies, but I might suggest it is much more about faith and personal relationships that it really is about sports per se.
You really should watch it if you get the chance.

Some of "Facing the Giants" was cheese. But, remember that NONE of the movie was done by professionals. There were no professional actors, no pro scriptwriters, film editters, cameramen, nothing. It was a total volunteer work. With that in mind, they came out with great results. I love this movie, and it always makes me laugh and cry in the same places every time. I've watched it about 8 times over the years.

I hope they translated this movie so I can see this movie too.
It's really bummer not much christian movies are translated in Dutch.

I just wanted to bump this up and remind people about this film as it opens across the USA on 850 screens today. As this is an indie film, the theaters will not hold this over for a second week unless opening weekend ticket sales are high. Go see this movie and let's help this film become a huge success!

I had plans to see this tonight but we had a small financial crisis. Sadly it will have to wait.

Just got back. It was good.

Holly and I are going sometime today. I really want to support this movie opening weekend and help them to have a hit. Hollywood needs to know that you can share a godly message and still tell a good story.

This one was much more realistic than Facing the Giants in that regard.

We went to see this last night. There are several things worth pointing out.

1) The story for this is amazing! It really shows a married couple whose marriage is well past the breaking point. But, when God finally gets ahold of one of the couple, he buckles down and decides that he will fight for his marriage. The main character goes through a ton of pain to follow through on saving his marriage. I hope that married couples everywhere can see this and decide to tough things out no matter how bad it has gotten. God is God and He is still fixing broken lives, broken marriages, etc.

2) The cinemetography of this movie is excellent! Having a much larger budget this time, this movie looks and feels more professional than "Facing the Giants". When the firefighters are attempting to rescue people from a car accident with an oncoming train barrelling down or when they are in a burning home, it looks and feels real. You will see some familiar faces from "Facing the Giants" and "Flywheel", but that just adds to the movie as you see familiar people.

3) The acting ability of Kirk Cameron is vastly improved. In the other movies I have seen Kirk in, I could never really shake the notion that this was just that goofy kid from "Growing Pains". This part almost seems like it was created for Kirk, and he is able to really bring the character to life. I was worried about the choice of him in the lead, but now I see it was the right choice.

All in all, it was a great movie! They had so many people show up last night for the 7PM show that the theater we went to shut another movie down to open a second screen for this film! God is awesome!

We weren't able to make it this week, but some friends of ours went Friday night and they said the theater was packed. Not to shabby for one of the most "unchurched" states in the union.

Way to go, Sherwood! Keep it up!

Sure helps when churches buy out the theaters. I hope it can sustain the pace for a couple weeks to show some true viability to Hollywood.

I hope to watch this movie too.
For now I am very glad that Amazing Grace is in the cinema's here.
That's a very good idea to go with church to Amazing Grace.

Yes and all of that considering it is showing in much less than half of the theaters nation-wide.

Dude that is awesome, I hope to see this movie soon, maybe this weekend but I don't know.

Found at "Books Christian" a DVD named "Fireproof".
The discription fits what Chris told us about the movie.
I am very amazed this movie is already out on a DVD.
Is this the same movie?

I thought when it takes so long before we here can watch good Christian movies I can order them in the US.
I hope my English is so good I understand it.

What you probably saw was either A) a preorder sale of the DVD to come months from now or B) the novelization of the "Fireproof" film by Eric Wilson.

It was B.

While the movie has dropped quite a bit as far as second week ticket sales, "Fireproof" continues to be the number 8 movie in the nation!

That is still very impressive for an independent film.
