Rob Rock rejoins Impellitteri!

The following was taken from the official Impellitteri website:

"Now on to our new record titled "Good and Evil". The new music is being mixed in Vancouver with Greg Reely (Devil Driver, Fear
Factory, etc..) . I can say that this is by far the most amazing recording I have been involved with. It is filled with amazing riffs, fast shredding solos, screaming vocals, and of course a brutal rhythm section.

The goal of this record was to make a historic album that will rival Van Halen 1, Ozzy's Blizzard of OZ, Pantera - Cowboys from Hell, Yngwie's Rising force, Metallica's Master of puppets, and even new artists like Children of Bodom and Avenged Sevenfold.

And so, Impellitteri "Good and Evil" is my attempt to rival the best. Hopefully, we have done our job well !! It was not easy.


And now for all of the patient fans --- ROB ROCK is officially back in the band."

That sounds great to me! Chris and Rob have always worked well together, and none of their albums have been anything other than good!

Hmmmm, I wonder if this means he won't make anymore solo albums.

I seemed to like Rob's solo work a bit better then his stuff with Impelliterri. But I am more than willing to give it a chance.

I know there have been some questions, but I would like to confirm in fact that Rob Rock will be performing on the
new Impellitteri CD. The following was taken from Rob's website:

"Rob Rock is currently in the studio recording vocals for the new Impellitteri CD titled "Good and Evil". Rob reunites with long time friend and guitarist Chris Impellitteri for their first collaberation together since the Impellitteri "Crunch" album."

I thought him wanting to do solo albums was the issue that Chris Impellitteri had with Rob. I seem to remember that being why Rob left the band.

Apparently, Chris has decided that he needs Rob to really make or break the band.

I am hoping that Rob can be in Impellitteri AND do his solo stuff (and side projects such as Fires of Babylon).

That would be very cool. Christian (formerly Rivel) was able to do it. At least for a little while.

Christian didn't have to worry about a guitarist with a bit of an ego, either. Carl has also done some solo work as have the rest of the Narnia camp. With Impellitteri, Chris did not want Rob to go out and do the solo projects.

I've heard that story a few times before. Neal Shcon and Steve Perry from Journey both had that same problem in the mid 80's when Perry recorded his solo project.

I was wondering if Rob was just doing the vocals for Impellitteri as a 'guest', like Graham and Curtis seemed to do, but in the wording in the opening post it seems that Rob is back like he was before, so it won't be a one album deal. That IS good if it's true, because continuity is very beneficial for a bands growth. If too many new people come and go then dud albums are often produced when the band doesn't gel together as well as they should.

It's true that Chris' albums without Rob haven't been as good (although they haven't been bad, by a long shot). The 3 things that made Impellitteri's albums stand out were the guitars riffs, the vocals and the lyrics. When Rob left the riffs were still there, but the lyrics, whilst okay, were a bit too 'secular' for my liking (and I was quite put off by the cussing) and the vocals weren't the same. Both Curtis and Graham have good vocals (I prefer Curtis' to Graham's) but Rob is in a class, league or even world of his own!

So, I hope this is a return to the Answer To The Master/Screaming Symphony/Eye Of The Hurricane days. Fast songs, good lyrics and loud impressive vocals. With a title like "Good and Evil" you know that it's gonna be Christian, and it's gonna rock!

It wouldn't surprise me if Rob wrote most (or even all) of the lyrics.

I think Rob pretty much writes the lyrics for any project he's involved with.

Maybe I am wrong but I have a thought that the music of Impellitteri wasn't christian music for some time.
Now Rob Rock joined the band again that may change.
