| Oh yes I really loves me some BBQ (and grilled meats in general).
I have a tendency to fire up the grill at least once a week most of the summer. I have even been known to grill in rain.
Tri-tip roasts, pork tenerloin, steaks, chicken, pork chops, burgers, hotdogs and sausages. It's all good to me.
I have a tendency to marinate the roasts, and only add sauces to the other meats after they have been grilled.

| I love BBQ too, but my kids don't have enough patient to wait till the fire is good enough to put meat or potatoes on.
We plan a BBQ on Sunday.
I think BBQ is men work and we women can eat and enjoy. |

| I had some old friends have a terrible experience BBQing - This is a warning for anyone with propane grills:
Their hose from the tank to the grill had a leak and when he lit it up, the tank sucked in fire and exploded. He was far enough away when it happened and was ok, but it started the side of his house on fire and his wife asleep inside died in the fire... the house was burnt to the ground. He tried to get in to help her, but they're pretty old and, well, I don't know how it all happened exactly, but it was a terrible tragedy.

Wow, talk about raining on the BBQ parade, what a bummer. Very sad to hear that.
One more very good reason not to grill with propane (who would want to do that anyway?)

Ah yes instead of it tasting like the smoke of natural wood, you would rather have your's taste like a poisonous gas.

Both sides of this argument are valid. That"s why I use an aged, cast-iron skillet over electric heat to cook meat.

| I just converted to a propane grill this summer. May not taste quite the same as charcoal, but it's still good and MUCH faster. The engineer in me really likes that. I say bring on the poison!

| With the fast lighting charcoal that is presoaked in lighter fluid, you are burning a poison, too. So, either would be bad for you in huge doses.
Just bring me the BBQ, and who cares about the chemicals?

All of that will burn off, if you wait for you coals to go white. Besides the real grilling afficianados use electric charcol starters or chimney starter, and eliminate the need for that nasty lighter fluid.
I used propane for years, but try figuring out how to get rid of an expired propane tank.
One time I bought an entire tank full of propane, it should have lasted me the entire season. We had some friends over for dinner (like the second time I used it) and one of their kids opened the tank (obvioiusly unknown to us) and it completely emptied. That was a very unpleasant surprise the next time we went to use our grill.

| If you live in the south, all you need is a section of road with a lot of trees & grass and not a lot of traffic. Just slow down and give her a toss. Be sure to roll the window down first! DUH!

| I know we have them here in the south. You can't stop at convenience market without seeing those and the ice machines outside.

There are some, but they are few and far between.
Lots of heavily wooded areas around here too, cut, the brush down to a few feet, and you will find all kinds of old used appliances. So I don't think that kind of "dispoal method" is only used in the "The South"
