Alexa is Such a Lady

So this evening I installed the Plex media server on my computer and set the skill in my Echo devices. After working out the kinks (like being patient enough to wait for the media server to finish scanning my music library) I did a few trial runs and was able to play single songs, specific albums, and random songs by a single artist. Sadly, Alexa cannot do complex searches like “play album such and such by artist so and so,” so I’ll never be able to play Stryper’s Fallen because Evanescence’s album by that name is always found first. Oh well, you can’t have everything.

So why is Alexa such a lady? I told her to “ask Plex to play God Dam Evil,” and after a brief pause she said, “playing the song beep beep beep Evil on the album beep beep beep Evil.”

I laughed so hard a about fell over!

Oh gosh, that is hilarious.
