| Caught the bottom 1/4 of the show Michael. We were at a SS class Super Bowl Party (came home early to get the kids in bed). Really liked The Cross and Valid. | |

| I was just comparing last week's file (which was done at a higher mp3 bitrate than I normally would have) and this week's ogg file and I think the OGG format has a lot less artifacts on material I know is recorded well. Even just me talking sounds much better. Is it just my ears? _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

| I was playing around with more settings and I think last week's just wasn't done very well. I'm learning not to trust Audacity with it's mp3 export's in general. If I export to FLAC and then use Foobar to go to mp3, it sounds much better and I can get the filesize smaller at the same time.
I think the highly compressed VBR mp3 setting also reduces some of the brightness that the stream introduces so while OGG does a better job of reproducing what is heard at the settings I'm using, the mp3 sounds a little more natural so I'll go back to doing the double conversion for now.
Hopefully Audacity will get the external encoder support working soon so I can do it direct from there using the settings I want. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

| Here is the mp3 version. See what you think. It's 11 MB smaller!

| So I downloaded and listened to the first few songs from each one. Yes I do notice a marked improvement in sound for both (but that might be because I am listening to speakers instead of headphones).
For some reason the ogg format seemed a little stronger (if that makes any sense). But other than that I didn't notice a serious difference. Something I might be picky about if I had purchased an e-file of some music, but certainly nothing I would be even mildly upset over while listening to a broadcast.
Maybe your voice sounds better because you have gotten over you cold? _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Oh, no. If you listen to last week's that was done at 64kbit CBR with whatever other settings Audacity uses, there are tons of very noticeable artifacts while I'm talking (and during songs) that you don't hear in either of this week's versions. It's clearly something in the settings Audactiy is using because I made another snippet from Audacity from this week's stream and it had the same effect. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

| I've only listened to the first half. Kinda thought it almost sounded like and 80's retro hair-metal show until Common Yet Forbidden started. - Quote :
- Candlefuse - Hungry
Never heard of these guys, is all their stuff really hard rockin P&W/CCM or is this kind of a one-off type song? _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."
