Anyone else notice that you can preview with any emoji you want, but apparently when you submit the final post, it truncates at "unrecognized" symbols?

I have previewed this, and will now post "COCO", a coconut, then "NUT".

I don't think we have a coconut emojie.
You have to use the ones that are preset for the board (and a few added by topshot/alldat).  You can view them from this shortcut in the topic reply box.

Ah, starts to make sense now. I don't think I ever use that. I'm in the habit of picking characters from my OS's tool since it's always available no matter the app.

I don't think Forumotion has caught up with the 21st century yet.  Laughing

If we were really worried about Forumotion being up to date, we wouldn't still be using an old school message board.

True dat!  We are mostly dinosaurs here using an antiquated social forum to relive the glory days of Christian hard rock and metal.
Great, thanks Chris...now you've made me maudlin!
lol!

I'd much rather communicate and share over a forum.  Way more organized and I can choose what to read at my leisure.

I prefer forums over things like facebook as well. Much easier to find and follow conversations.

Exactly.  I'm getting really annoyed with Facebook deciding what will be in my feed.  I would just visit individual friends and family members f.b. pages but I don't have 5 hours each day to do that.  Instead they seem to assault me with 90% of the content from the last 3 people I friended and really give me no way to reduce that without snoozing them for a month of completely removing them from my feed.

Completely agree that dedicated forums are better than FB for serious discussion.

I think the forum is an endangered species (not this one but forums in general). I love em but many I am a member of are completely dead. I visited one I used to post at and the last post there was dated 2011 from me! People have left forums in droves for some reason. I am not on FB so these forums are my connection to the world. The biggest and busiest forum I am a member of is the Steve Hoffman forum. I joined there several years ago when I was looking to buy a turntable and get back into vinyl. Probably 20 members there and it's very active.

And I might add I used to love those old Yahoo! Groups. Lots of old forums there are completely gone I am not even sure if that is still a thing

ChristTrekker, I know what you're talking about. It's happened to me too. I sometimes right click my mouse to pick an emoji instead of using the very cute ones provided on this forum. Every once and a while I come across an emoji that the forum doesn't recognize. Most of them are fine, but some of them either come out as a bunch of lines or the Forum just changes it into something it recognizes. Not surprisingly, I also can not get the coconut to work.     Sad

Why yes, ChristTrekker. It's the title track. We're going to write a whole album about fruits and vegetables with a Biblical theme. Track listing

Jesus Eats Salad
The Eggplant Polka
Fruit of Knowledge
Dancing with the Coconuts...

It will be VeggieTales for grown ups. Bob the Tomato with a beer gut and Junior the asparagus all grown up.   Fight
