Walmart Blues Official Video!

Yes, I know you have all been sitting on pins and needles awaiting the arrival of this monumental artistic tapestry I have been working on feverishly for a couple of weeks.  Your lives are all about to be enriched and you will soon discover a greater sense of purpose.  Well, you at least will get a chuckle or two, I hope!

You liked my full sleeve of tats?  That sleeve was pure nylon!  I used it in a play I did two years ago.

Doing this video made Walmart more like a day at the park than a miserable shopping experience.

The guitar in the video IS real and was used on my latest blues album.

All that was missing was a ZZ Top beard when you used "that" voice.

I have hit my first snag with releasing this video.  I have a copyright claim on my song.  MY OWN SONG!!!

CD Baby has flagged the video for copyright infringement.  That is hilarious as I AM THE ARTIST!!!

I have filed a dispute with YouTube and notified CD Baby that the video is legit.  I am not stealing my own song.  I also gave them permission to collect any monies made from this.  Of course, unless I go viral, I highly doubt that there will be enough to ever do anything big with.  I sure won't make a living off this track.

At least it's good to know that CDBaby is watching out for you, it makes sense that they wouldn't be able to automatically know it was you posting your own song to youtube.  Although it seems like it would have been a good idea to contact you and ask if you had posted the video before having Youtube automatically try to shut you down.

CDBaby claims it and will collect the plays so that they can collect your royalties.  Unless you have 1,000 followers on YouTube you can't monetize.  CDBaby's claim allows monitization.

That's a polite way of saying, "I was kicked out of several."

With Windows Movie Maker, getting the vocals synced exactly right was really hard.  You have to keep playing with a numerical value to cut and trim to try to fit your edits in.  I don't think it was made for something of this magnitude.  It did, however, have some color correction and some corrections of unwanted camera movement.

I was trying to avoid getting kicked out of any Walmart that I used.  So, instead of my local one in Lebanon, I used two different stores in Murfreesboro, TN as that town has grown until they have 4 Super Walmart stores and one Walmart Neighborhood Market (grocery only).  I only had one employee ask me about my phone stabilizer as I exited one store.  She informed me that five years ago they would have kicked me out of any Walmart for filming with or without permission.  Nowadays, though, I guess they figure it is free advertising for them as long as you aren't tearing up merchandise, filming other customers, or being disruptive.  I chose the aisles in the stores that I used solely for lack of people so that I wouldn't be a nuisance.  I was a very considerate idiot....errrr....cinematic videographer!!!  Yeah, that sounds professional!!!  LOL

A nice free editor that I found far superior to WMM is Videopad by NCH Software, but only up to version 2.41 is free so that is what I still use. I can send the exe if you can't find it and like to try it out.

I will search for it.  I have a man at church that is building websites for people as his part time job and he suggested an open source one that is supposed to be pretty good, too!

I found a couple of plug-ins to help promote the song video.  I edited the tags and went up 7 views almost immediately.  I don't think I am going to go viral any time soon, but more views means more exposure for both my music and for my YouTube channel.  If people start watching this and stumble across my Pastor Chris segments, I will be thrilled!

I may sign up for a Twitter account again to help promote the Hangin' With Pastor Chris segments.

My song has now been viewed 210 times.  While I am far from going viral, it does feel good to know that someone is watching.

I checked on my video for "Girl In The Window", and it has almost 3,800 views.  Sweet!
