Always been a big ELO fan. Though I've never seen the Xanadu movie, I've always dug some of the soundtrack. I was a fan of Olivia even before her awesome songs in Grease. My mom had a couple albums from the early/mid 70s and I remember liking her voice before I ever even seen her in Grease (course I became a bigger fan after seeing her in Grease )
Oh and Sheena's pretty cool too. When it had just came out, my Uncle won her '84 album "Private Heaven" off a call-in radio show ("You're the 14th caller !!") but had no interest in her music, so he gave me the LP. I was fully immersed in heavy metal and punk in '84, so I had to be a closet-Sheena-fan If my buddies found out I was blasting "STRUT" when no one was around, I still wouldn't be hearing the end of it
PS - yes, RUSH's Xanadu is absolute brilliance. LOVE that tune !

Gosh guys it's not rocket science, pick one of your favorite bands and then post the album cover that you remember first owning or hearing. It's not like someone is going to jump in and scream at you "THAT'S NOT YOUR FAVORITE BAND!!!". Or even "NO WAY DUDE, YOU TOTALLY OWNED OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN'S "XANADU SOUNDTRACK" BEFORE YOU EVER EVEN HEARD OF THE "PHYSICAL" ALBUM".
Some of our brains have to make everything into rocket science. For the record, Olivia was my second celebrity crush because she was always singing all these songs directly to me.
I also remember my fifth grade music teacher let us bring in our favorite song to play for the class. Someone brought in John Cougar's "Jack and Diane" and she turned it off and ejected the tape like it was on fire after the "got her hand between his knees" line and informed us that it wasn't appropriate for class. Then someone brought in "Physical" and she couldn't stop praising it for its celebration of physical fitness and health. Yeah...

If you haven't seen Xanadu you really should. It isn't as if its an amazing film, but it is kind of unique. Very dated, and will probably seem slowly paced when compared to today's films. But it was really interesting. And yes, it is a musical. It's almost like watching a Broadway dance musical on the big screen. It has Gene Kelly as well. And roller skating (yes Gene Kelly roller skates).

Instead of the typical sappy Hallmark February ideas, how about something random or clever. Something like, it's the 2nd month, so an avatar that has something to do with the #2, or the "2nd"
Or someone else have a cool idea ?

Actually, the number 2 is a good thing. However, three is a magic number.

I'll have to share my latest Maiden VINYL acquisitions with you sometime. So much cooler on LP than CD as you can enjoy Derek's artwork better

It's March! Get busy people and come up with something!
As for Xanadu, I have never actually seen it but have always wanted to. I love the soundtrack (Olivia's songs and ELO's). I have it on CD and I need to break it out and give it a spin.

Oh and since i am a day late and a dollar short I jumped on the "2" bandwagon if only for a day. Styx II is my avatar since Styx is my favorite all time band.

For March, how about:
Favorite super hero? Stupidest movie you've ever seen? Random album that you like and you have to explain why you like it? Picture of your pet?
