Black Rider has a winner. I have it on tape thanks to Guilty/Forgiven and it has been one of the most influential albums for me, even though I haven't listened to it that much. Beautiful songwriting.
I'm going to need to think of mine.

It's a conspiracy! I think you all just want to have me remove my ugly mug from my profile! MUTINY!!!!
Or, you just got bored with what you had previously.
Same/same!

Hmm, "technically" Diver Down was my first actual album I owned. Got it for Christmas '82. But I recorded a copy of VH 1 from my oldest brother in '78. Played that tape a zillion times - I remember it too, I had taken an old children's tape cassette and put tape over the holes to record over it. That's how I also recorded several episodes of Dr Demento

Oh wow Diver Down was my first VH album too (and only one for several decades). I was rather disappointed with it at the time.

I decided not to overthink it so I went with the only Barenaked Ladies album I currently own, their 1991-2001 Greatest Hits. They're a recent discovery of mine and probably my de facto favourite right now, since that's mostly what I listen to.
Fun fact for the Rush fans out there, BNL's song Grade 9 musically quotes Tom Sawyer and The Spirit of Radio.

BNL is a talented group I enjoy several of their radio hits.

Gosh guys it's not rocket science, pick one of your favorite bands and then post the album cover that you remember first owning or hearing. It's not like someone is going to jump in and scream at you "THAT'S NOT YOUR FAVORITE BAND!!!". Or even "NO WAY DUDE, YOU TOTALLY OWNED OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN'S "XANADU SOUNDTRACK" BEFORE YOU EVER EVEN HEARD OF THE "PHYSICAL" ALBUM".

They were the only Olivia N.J. albums I could remember.
(I won't include the vid for "Physical" cuz it's a little risque)

I think I had a friend who had the Xanadu soundtrack on cassette. I remember liking the movie at the time, and a substantial portion of the soundtrack was written and recorded by ELO (Jeff Lynne). So even with the disco-esque kind of sound some of it was still pretty solid. Not sure it would hold up well today, but I remember jamming to it in the early 80's. Other than that and the Grease Soundtrack I was only exposed to a few of Olivia's radio hits. I actually liked Sheena Easton better.
