| So my wife and I are looking at buying a new computer. We would prefer a laptop but most models don't have a cd drive of any kind.
Like most of you, I still buy almost all my music on cd and would like to continue. Thoughts, suggestions?

| You can buy separate disc-drives that just plug into the USB port on your laptop. They're pretty cheap. I have one and it's faster than the one on my laptop. | |

| I was going to suggest the same. One of the partners at my firm has an external CD drive and he says it works pretty well. _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| I just bought a new HP that has a disc drive! I could have saved money by buying one without and adding the external drive!!!! _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. https://christianhardmusic.niceboard.com/ | |

| We bought the last Macbook that came with a built-in optical drive. I still rip my CDs and DVDs so having it onboard is really handy.
But there are definitely good external models out there. Might as well spring for one that handles Blu-Ray as well.
