Cool. The chorus sounds very Ozzy.

Weirdly, the lyrics make me think of "Brotherhood of Man." I know they're not really similar, it's just what came to mind as I listened.

I love the song, but the video itself doesn't grab me as it is mostly stock video from old news reels.  To me, it didn't fit the story of the song.

Yeah, I thought the video was an odd fit too. It's hard for the average joe to film new footage though. Pricey thing to do. Stock footage is affordable is all.

I am seriously considering shooting music video--with just cell phones.  I would rather use lighting filters and such with some decent software for video editting than spend a ton on cameras.  I think that a fun video could be achieved without shelling out a ton of $$$.  For the indie artist with no label, that might be the only way we can afford to do a video.

My friend asked at a local film school if there were any students looking to build their portfolio. He got a good response from that, but the end result was not fantastic. It wasn't the quality of filming, it was the interpretation of his script by kids half his age that made the whole thing ridiculous.  lol
 
I've used a green plastic table cloth hung on the wall as a green screen before ($10) with mixed results. Apparently, I didn't light the screen evenly so the software struggled to deal with the variation in colour. I'm going to be doing that again soon, but this time I'll spend more time getting the lighting right. Last time I just used the camera on my laptop. The quality wasn't great, but I got a video out of it so I can't really complain can I. This time I'm going to borrow a camera from a friend and use a tripod. I'll let you know how it goes.

The D.O.G. video going round the streets (speeded up) at night looked great.  I bet that wasn't that expensive to do, yet it looked pretty cool, and matched the music.
My kids were trying to guess if we'd catch up with that white van as we turned right and followed it up the road!

I've seen a couple punk/indie bands shoot videos with their iPhones. It actually looks good if you do it right.

Hey everyone thanks for watching the video.  It is harder than you can imagine to come up with a cool, affordable, and simple video idea.  At least for us, since we don't have a lot of technical video editing skills.  We developed this idea and turned it loose on a great director named Ryan Pierson, who also put together our video for the song "The More Things Change".  We used a lot of cell phone footage on that one.  If anyone has seen a cool homemade video post it up I would love to see what other bands are doing! 

Agree totally. It is really hard to come up with cool yet affordable ideas. My problem is that I come up with great ideas for videos that are COMPLETELY unachievable on a low/no budget.

Love the silhouette thing you've used. Very cool. And the way you tell the story, but also keep it about the band. While the vid for "We all die alone" pulled at the heartstrings, this one actually affected me more because it was so much more personal. Good call I'd say.

I want to like this band. I should like this band. But I just can't. Sometimes it's songs that are far more modern than melodic. This song, which is much more melodic, has way too much going on. For lack of a better way to put it, it's noisy. I love the groove and Dale's voice is awesome, but there so many effects and other stuff overtop the actual song that I just don't want to listen again. Bummed.

I love this song.
It's time to order this CD.
