Mission Of One remaster

I am going to be reissuing my "Take Another Swig" album.  I've been sitting on the remastered versions of the songs for a couple of years.  I have redone the album artwork and made the change on it from the original Missionary One to Mission Of One.  I'll release it only digitally for now.  I will upload it to Bandcamp.  I will offer it free to you guys and girls when it is all uploaded.  If you have previously bought the CD, then you deserve the updated version for free.  If you haven't bought it before, this will be a great way to get some 80s metal at no charge.

I'll let you know when it is up.

Should I wait for the next remaster or anniversary edition? (Like Warriors Of The Son)? Or should I wait for the re-re-recorded version remastered?

While a couple of songs may reappear on Big Chris & D'Bare Bones Band albums like "Life's Just Bad" did, this will be the final version.  I don't think I'd have enough CD sales to warrant having even a small batch of CDs printed.  So, this will be it.

I don't even know if there ever will be another Mission Of One CD.  I haven't had any good ideas for songs in a long time in that style.  So, until that happens, MO1 is on hiatus indefinitely.

Thank you, kind sir!  In retrospect, I would not have given this a 10.  It was rough and not mixed as well as it could have been.  I did the best I knew how, though.  So, the remaster helped make it sound better.  Without rebuilding from the ground up, which I don't want to do, I don't think I could improve.  If I could redo it, I would definitely take more time to mix.  I would also have a better singer.

I have a little over half the album converted to FLAC for uploading to Bandcamp and nearly 1/3 uploaded.  It is a work in progress.

Personally I can't wait to hear it because I never have before.

While I prefer the later Mof1 albums (especially Hostile to the Gospel, and the Self-titled), my favorite Mof1 song of all time is on that first album (Give it to Jesus).  It will be really cool to hear the remastered version.

Well, for those of you who have never heard it, I hope you are amazed.  Once it is completely uploaded, you will have a day or two to snag it for free.

For those of you who like it, I hope that the mastering job makes it sound more professional and complete.

I did away with the casket in the drink cover.  Now, it is just an amp head with the band name and album title in an "AC/DC" type of font.  While not the most creative, it serves a purpose.  It also prepares the listener for what they can expect.

I have all the songs converted to FLAC and am working to get them uploaded.  That just takes time.

Awesome news! I've never heard the album, this will be a chance to hear what MO1 has sounded like.

Just started listening.  Diggin' the riffage on Deliverance!

Thanks!  That is one of the first songs I ever wrote.  I am also playing bass and lead guitar on that one.

The leads are good, too!

The original mix was too bass thick.  Hopefully, in the conversion to FLAC and then uploaded to Bandcamp, a little low end will be shaved.  If I had the original recordings, I could have remixed and remastered.  However, the little 16 recorder I had at the time was sold.  You could make backups of your files but only for that unit.  So, I had to delete them before I shipped the unit.  I used that money to buy the Korg 32 track recorder I currently have.

I wish I could go back in time and use what I now know about recording on these, but I really don't want to reinvest the time to recreate these knowing that I don't have a big enough following to warrant that.

I hear ya!  I'd like to re-do The Beta Sessions and In the Christmas Groove to get better guitar tones and higher quality recordings.  But I'd rather move forward than backward.

I would rather see that from most artists.  Occasionally rerecords or good, but I say they are only necessary if the original quality can be improved substantially and/or it is the only way to get the music in the hands of fans.
