PostSubject: Please Pray For My Wife   Thu Nov 03, 2016 8:40 pm

My wife has surgery tomorrow morning (Friday).  They are removing most of her female reproductive parts.
The surgery is very common and not terribly risky....but I am going to be a nervous wreck until I know that she is going to be alright.

So pray for you, not her. Smile  Done! For both, that is. Smile

The surgery went very well, and I was actually able to take her home yesterday afternoon (just a few hours after surgery).  she is in quite a bit of pain but was able to get some sleep last night.  I've had a nasty head cold since Thursday afternoon.  Been trying to keep up a good front and take care of my wife, but I wasn't able to sleep much and  I'm feeling kind of wiped out myself.

It's hard to take care of your spouse when you're not up to snuff yourself. I totally understand that. Long as you're there for her regardless, that means everything to her I'm sure.

My wife is still doing well, but has a bit of pain (which is to be expected).  I'm a little surprised that the strongest thing they gave her for the pain was Tylenol 3 with codeine.  She's actually been taking some Percocet that she has from when you broke a rib last year, and it works better than the Tylenol 3.  She's hoping to be able to taper down on the meds in a day or two (she doesn't want to be on the hard stuff for long).  Funny part is that they put blue dye in her bladder before/during the surgery (for some reason)....and three days later she is still peeing blue!  Laughing

I'm still feeling under the weather so I took today off from work as well.  I'll really gonna pay for that when I go back to the office tomorrow.

I saw all of this on Facebook and prayed for Miss Charlotte.  I am glad she is feeling better.

That blue dye could be something that was to change color if she had internal bleeding.  It may actually be supposed to have a residual effect on her urine for several days.

Heck, they gave me only Tylenol 3 while in the hospital after my by-pass.  It's pretty much standard now, I believe.

That's good to know, for some reason in made her nauseous, and the other pills they gave her for the nausea weren't helping.  At this point I think she is just going with standard over the counter extra strength Tylenol.

I think they may have done it so that it would be obvious if they nicked the bladder during surgery.  Just kind of surprised it is still turning her urine blue after 3 days (that and it's really funny).  Laughing

Wouldn't it make her urine green?  Yellow and blue make green.  I'm just sayin'!!!
