That one album...

So in continuing with my random topics...

Do you have one album that is the only in that style that you like, and that one satisfies your desire for that style?

For instance, I have Glenn Kaiser's You Made a Difference in Me. Detroit style soul/R&B. I love that CD. But I have no desire to get more soul in my collection. That one disc meets what I want in a soul album. (Of course, I have all his blues stuff because 1. It's Glenn and 2. It's blues!)

Another example is Miles Davis' Kind of Blue. I enjoy jazz but don't listen to that much. I occasionally say to myself "I should get some more jazz..." but really, that disc is enough for me usually.

I'm not sure there is one single album, but there are a few artists I like that are outside of my usual style.  For instance:

Theocracy...have all the albums, but almost no other power metal (with the exception of Inner Siege)
I also have two or three Ultimatum albums, but no other trash.

Oh yeah, I'm that way too. I have all Brad Paisley's albums but don't listen to much other country, especially twangy guitar based country.

I guess I could say I don't like Thrash Metal with growling vocals but I have the first 3 from VR. I don't like the last album at all so I do not have that one. On occasion I will listen to "Human Sacrifice" or "Once Dead" (preferring "Once Dead" over the first). I never play "Destruction Comes" because every song sounds the same to me. I bought it when it was reissued and played it 3 or 4 times and did not like it at all.

LOL... in fairness, there's quite a few whole albums on youtube I listen to on occasion. Once I can afford more in my music budget, I'll probably get more jazz.
