Just need to rant!

So I just left a meeting that made me so mad I almost lost Jesus a few times. Here's why:

The meeting was supposed to be about one issue. One. It was supposed to be me, my colleague and the people we supervise who are all in the same position. Our manager, her boss, our Director of Nursing and the superintendent invited themselves - which is fine. Except they took over the meeting and complained about everything the folks in the meeting were doing wrong. So instead of trying to fix what was really a simple topic, it turned into an hour and a half of our bosses complaining about us.

This wouldn't bother me except our superintendent likes to complain about everyone that worked here before she came - especially in a setting like this. Almost like passive-aggressively putting us down to our faces.

This is so unprofessional and I work really hard to be professional and respectful. And if she hates the place so bad, go work somewhere else!

Wow.... Don't know what to say except that I am glad I am part of a Union who would call the meeting out of order and any union official present could dismiss the people who "showed up" or recuse us without any repercussion if the topics on the agenda were not discussed. I've been in similar meetings and have requested the Union be present and was in one where the official said "they leave or we leave"... So we got up and left.

Sometimes unions can be a good thing.

I have walked out of a meeting before because it turned into something other that was it was supposed to be about.  I thought I was going to get yelled at by my client but instead I inadvertently started a small stampede of people just walking out of the meeting.

I almost walked out. But honestly, I didn't feel like dealing with the fall-out if I did.

I just don't get it. I have skills and talents that this place won't let me use (seriously, I spoke 3 times in the 90 minutes we were "meeting" and I was interrupted all three times) but a door just won't open.

Why does God keep saying "No."?
