I'm not a doom fanatic but these guys are great. Often, the vox don't fit the music in doom imo, not so with this group.

I rather dig them. I have First Light and The Eternal Return. Their beliefs seem legit - not a "Christian band", but rather "Christians in a band" as we seem to be seeing more and more these days.
I got this from them:
"first and foremost, Nomad Son is a doom metal band, created as we’ve said before to explore the shades of doom metal and heavy metal that we enjoy and hopefully also entertain other people in the process. The christian dimension emerges really in the imagery and symbolism the band uses to present itself and on the lyrical front.... we also draw reference from christianity (particularly in its most pristine and de-institutionalised format) as that is a world view which we are totally open to and embrace.”
(oh, and yes, Kerrick is quite aware of them )

Nomad Son's third album, "The Darkening" , is equally good. I really like the vocals as well as the fact that they don't shy away from faster tempo songs. Nomad Son, along with Forsaken, are the best doom bands out there, in my opinion.
It should also be noted that NS vocalist Jordan Cutajar did the vocal work on Pylon's new album which releases later this month.

Nomad Son is fantastic! Yeah I've been well aware of them for some time. Personally, The Darkening is my favorite album of theirs though all three are spectacular.

Haha but anyways... moving on from poles in my house... Nomad Son. They're really good. I think my favorite song may be Seven Notes In Black. Yours?

I really enjoy me some DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM-y goodness. And Nomad Son's latest The Darkening is a great album. They enjoyed my review of it on Untombed.

I agree with Kerrick that Seven Notes in Black is a great song. But I'm really enjoying Age of Contempt.

You remind me of me when I discovered NS. You should check out Forsaken. The twobands are similar and equally good. These two are the "big boys" of the doom genre, in my opinion.

Forsaken is EPIC. I found them first and then Nomad Son, though I probably listen to NS more these days. Their albums are harder to find (I had to order them from all over the world haha) but are all excellent. Dominaeon is my favorite album of theirs.
